Well, Brazil is just about as far from the North of the UK as you can get (and I should know, my sister in law is from Argentinia and my Auntie lives in Chile!), but I invite Real wedding submissions from all over the world, and when this one from the fabulous Jared Windmuller landed in my inbox, how could I not share it with you?

What a Saturday morning treat!

One super gorgeous bride, a scorchio setting and lots of greek fire in the belly. Have a smashing time…

Jared tells us more: I would like to send in a real greek wedding which took place on 1 May 2010, in Florianópolis SC Brazil on Ponta das Canas beach at the North of the island of Florianopolis.

Katina’s father was born in Crete and 25 years ago boarded a ship destined for Brazil. So it is no surprise that her marriage with Cassio was done within the Greek traditions. But what stands out is the emotion and the creativity present at the ceremony and party.

Their wedding is an inspiration to all couples, regardless of religion or belief. Held in a beautiful hotel on the beach, everything had been planned in great detail and was set in a stunning sunset.
.
To pay tribute to her late father, Katina arrived at the ceremony aboard
a rowing boat. The marriage was conducted according to the rites of the Greek Orthodox Chruch: preliminary prayers, blessing of rings, grooms and coronation procession.

The party also included the traditional breaking of plates, during the typical dance. Katina and Cassio ordered 200 ceramic plates to ensure that everything would be perfect.
