Beautiful Bejuled: Supplier Showcase

Julia Smith

.

This afternoon, I chat to my namesake and creator of glitzy gorgeous wedding stationery: Julia of Bejuled Wedding Stationery.

How and why did Bejuled begin?

.

I’ve always been creative from an early age, from the Blue Peter days to now. For the past 8 years I’ve making cards for family and friends, with great success, and someone once asked if I did wedding stationery. After saying no, I went away and thought about it, and the ‘lightbulb’ moment happened – I should design and make wedding stationery. So, Bejuled began as cards and gifts and expanded to include wedding stationery. Now, I focus my time solely on the wedding stationery.

.

.

Are you married?  If not, what stationery would you choose for your big day?

.

Not yet, no. If I were to get married, the colour scheme would definitely be a deep purple and gold to give it that luxurious regal feel. As for the design, I’d struggle to pick. I love ‘Auriol’ for its simplicity and traditional style, but I think I’d have to let the other half choose as I’d probably keep changing my mind as I made new ranges!

.

.

What designs are available to order?

.

Currently I have four ranges which are available to order: Evelyn – with painted raised swirl hearts; Isabella – funky raised squares; Auriol – diamante heart buckles and Isis – with diamante feathers. These can all be viewed on my website.

.

.

Do you have any new designs for 2011?

.

Early Summer will see a brand new range at Bejuled, entitled ‘Eleanor’, which will feature a patterned glitter scroll effect, available in several colours. A real sophisticated and sparkly look! Also, in early Autumn, I will be launching the 6th range: Rose – a funky, vibrant and bright design for those modern, less traditional couples out there.

Can you do bespoke designs?

.

Absolutely. Whether it’s a Halloween themed day, Elvis extravaganza or a Right Royal British inspired celebration, just drop me an email with your plans for your big day, I’ll then do a couple of sample designs, and we can take it from there.

.

What is your favourite design and why?

.

My personal favourite is the new ‘Eleanor’ range – but you’ll have to watch this space and wait and see for yourself why I love it so much!

.

.

What is your most popular design and why?

.

The most popular design currently is ‘Evelyn’. I think people like it so much because of the romance of it. The beautiful hearts are traditional but with a twist of elegance in their style.

.

Where do you get your inspiration from?

.

I usually start with pencil and paper and scribble ideas that come into my mind. Then make it using the materials, and that’s when things either come together exactly as I’ve drawn it, or I play around with the design using the materials themselves until I’m happy with the finished product.

.

.

What products are available in each design?

.

Each range includes matching designs for Save the Date, day/evening invitation, R.S.V.P. card, Order of Service, Table Number/Name, Place Card, Menu, Thank You card and Table Plan. I also make wedding extras to match in with your choice of range and colour, including post boxes, favours, keepsake boxes and guest books.

Who would be your dream client, and what sort of design would you envisage for them?

.

I would love to design for someone like Dolly Parton. A real individual, who’d no doubt have a wacky wedding, so I could really go over the top with the stationery!

.

.

What would be your top tips for Brides Up North when choosing their wedding stationery?

.

Just to make sure that you are clear in your mind of what it is you want for your big day, and what you want your guests to get from it – whether you want to show a simple, elegant side or a big bold statement that they’ll remember always. It’s your big day, so make sure your day is exactly what you want it to be.

.

.

Does all the stationery have to match?

.

Not at all. If you prefer to mix and match the ranges to give an individual, quirky feel to your wedding, then feel free.

.

.

Where are you based and where can you supply?

.

I am based in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, working from home (handy when you’re desperate for a nice cuppa!) and currently deliver within the UK only though I would consider international orders.

.

.

What are your prices?

.

Prices differ slightly depending on the range, but pricing for invites for example start from £2.40 (Isabella Range) to £4.20 (Isis Range).

Can you offer a special discount to Brides Up North readers?

.

Definitely. Bejuled is happy to give your Brides Up North readers a fabulous 10% off to help in their special celebrations. Just quote Brides Up North when getting in contact with me.

.

.

How long do you take to turn around an order?

.

This does depend on the size of the order, but it usually takes on average between 5-6 weeks for the total order to be completed. Baring in mind I am a ‘one woman band’ and do it all myself. However, I make and post the stationery in stages, so that my clients aren’t waiting too long for it all. I usually make and post the save the dates, invites & R.S.V.Ps within 3 weeks of receiving the order; order of service, table numbers, place cards are sent out a couple of weeks after that; and following another 2 weeks of beavering away in my office, I then send out your menus, table plan, thank you cards. It’s always best to contact me if you are unsure of whether you’ve left enough time and I will try and fit you in.

.

.

How can I get in touch to discuss my requirements or place an order?

.

You can contact me on my website at www.bejuled.co.uk (keep checking back, as Bejuled is getting a makeover very soon!). Via email at info@bejuled.co.uk. Facebook at www.facebook.com/BejuledOnline. Or on Twitter at www.twitter.com/BejuledOnline.

.

.

Finally, why do you read the Brides Up North blog and why do you like it?

.

It’s updated regularly, which means it’s easy to find out what’s new in the world of weddings, what offers you have and who else is reading the blog. Hopefully, one day if I get married, my wedding pictures will feature too!
