My last post about what to wear as a wedding guest at a black tie wedding (sexy senorita style!) proved very popular, so I decided to follow it up with style ideas to support another trending theme – the summer picnic wedding.

Vintage is very much in en vogue right now and quintessentially English weddings are a la mode. Think old school tea parties with patterned china, cucumber sandwiches, bunting, croquet on the lawn and children running around with flowers in their hair… the Great British summer wedding is being celebrated!

But what to wear for such an affair? Some tips: On soft ground – always wedges, never heels. Plain white will never do – you’ll annoy the bride and get grass stains. Now is the time to break out the florals and floppy hats. Floaty or draped works far far better on a picnic rug than skin tight.
