June 12, 2011 | After being made redundant last year we had to downsize drastically. The cost of a photographer is something we had to cut out. I have since turned to training as a photographer so that I can help others who perhaps think they can’t afford a professional photographer for their wedding. We get married in 34 days and it will still be special, despite our budget cuts and the Government cutback causing redundancies countrywide.

June 13, 2011 |  Hi, My name is Zoey Adams, me and my fiancee (Faye) got engaged in March. It wasn’t really a spectacular proposal but it was special to me and the engagement rings bought were as cheap as we could get them as we are on budget. We have a little boy and are both finding it really hard to get a job and juggle family life to, we haven’t yet planned a date for the wedding but we have got an engagement party coming up on the 2nd of July. To afford the party we have had to move out of the rented property we were living in and move into my fiancee’s dad’s home just so we could save all the extra pennies we had to pay for the party. With not having much money and not a lot of spare time on our hands for me and her time then this shoot would be the perfect opportunity to wind down and enjoy ourselves and have some alone time away from the hectic household we live in and our little boy who we love very much but can’t all kids can be a handful, we also think the photo session will give up some cherished memories as we don’t yet know how long we will be waiting to set a date and if we will be able to afford a photographer at the wedding to capture those memories so at least if we win this some memories will be captured xxx

June 15, 2011 | Hi – Myself and my partner Angela have lived together since late last year. All we have done is fight to be together due to illnesses and stress caused by my ex wife. All we ever wanted was to be happy and to live our lives but things have got that bad, that I had to be declared bankrupt and we pretty much lost everything, including my health and two businesses, together with contact with my little boy. Despite all this, Angela has stuck by me and been my rock and a fantastic partner, friend and soulmate. She really is one in a million. I wanted us to celebrate our engagement properly and show her how much I do love her and want to be with her, but with the financial situation and four children to look after, it is proving impossible. This photo shoot is something I could only dream about, it would be the perfect gift to say thank you for standing by me through thick and thin and believing in us despite everything that has been thrown at us. We plan to marry in 2012 but this would just be the perfect way of showing that no matter what is thrown at us, we will never waiver and will always be in love with each other no matter what.

Thanks so much for reading x

June 16, 2011 |  Hi Brides Up North! Myself and my lovely hubby to be have been together for 6 years since we were just 17. We got engaged when he popped the question next to a lake in the Lake District on our 6 year anniversary. Even though it was raining it was just perfect.  Both of our families would love a photograph of us together as that doesn’t happen very often, myself and James both have A-Levels in photography so often end up on the wrong side of the lens.  Our wedding isn’t until 2014 as we have a lot of saving up to do so it would be just perfect for us and our family to have a reminder of this very special, exciting and long engagement. Love a very excited Bride to Be – Natalie xox

PS. I love your blog Brides Up North keep up the great work! xox

June 20, 2011 | Hi team! as so excited to see this comp as have been really keen on getting an engagement shoot done but as we’re saving as much as we can, it was sort of an expense I have had to cut at this stage. Having this shoot done would mean so much to my family as they are in Australia and haven’t even met my fiancé, Justin. They may not until we marry in July next year, so all my mum has to go on really are the rare self portraits we’ve published on Facebook, which she has stuck on her fridge. It would mean a lot to have some great photos to mark this exciting and momentous time in our lives. :D xx
