I get a lot of emails from my readers asking how I got in shape for my wedding day.  The honest answer? A lot of running and a lot of luck, as I had no real clue how to lose weight, tone up and eat sensibly for optimum results. 

.

It seems that a lot of ladies are trying to shape up for their big day, but don’t know where to start, lack motivation or are just downright confused by the masses of conflicting “wedding diet” information out there.  To carb or not to carb?  Lift heavy or light? Weight Watchers or Dukan?  Honestly,  it’s enough to have you reaching for a family sized bar of Cadburys.

I decided that it was time to call in the professionals.

Girls, I bring you:  Brides Up North Bootcamp with Motive 8 North Personal Training. 

.

Brides Up North Bootcamp is a twelve week fitness and eating plan devised by Personal Trainer Jenny Cromack of Motive 8 North for brides to be (and bridesmaids!).  Whether you want to shed the pounds or just tone up before your wedding day, this programme will help you to achieve results. 

.

Starting next Sunday PM and for the next 12 weeks, we will bring you a weekly set of exercise and healthy eating targets all designed to help you to feel fab on your big day. 

.

We have made Brides Up North Bootcamp as simple to follow from home as possible and you can tailor the plan to suit your personal goals and timetable.  Jenny will be talking you through each exercise and I’ll be posting lots of photographs to help you achieve the correct form.  The eating plan will feature a series of interchangeable options for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks as well as helpful hints on eating out.

And who will be the guinea pig?  Why, this little of course.  I will keep a weekly diary of my progress, vital stats and those all embarrassing before and after shots.  After all, if I can do it – so can you!

Sound like a plan?  Here’s what you’ll need to get started next Sunday:

A set of two 3kg dumbbells

A 75cm stability ball

A good pair of trainers

Lightweight exercise clothing including a good sports bra

A yoga mat for floor exercises (optional)

You’ll find exercise equipment in most sports shops or at Argos.  I’ve just given you a license to shop.

Jenny Cromack of Motive 8 North has been working in the Health and Fitness industry for over 10 years. In 2001 she graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University with a degree in Physical Education and decided that she wanted to use my own knowledge and passion to help other people improve their own health and fitness. After graduating, she worked as a gym instructor and then the assistant manager of a gym. In 2004 Jenny studied in Dublin at the National College for Exercise and Health Studies and gained the National Qualification in Personal Training. Upon returning to England she worked as a personal trainer, aerobics instructor and a manager at various health clubs in Leeds and Manchester. During her time as a personal trainer she has helped people run 10k´s and half marathons, lose weight, tone up to fit in their wedding dress and helped pregnant mums keep fit and healthy during their pregnancy.
