Melissa Dawson of Parlour Millinery is delighted to have been shortlisted in the Best Local Designer Category in the Leeds Retail Awards this year. Today, she showcases her fashion forward Autumn/Winter 2011 collection on the wedding blog.

Melissa says: I have been passionate about textiles since I was a child and have always enjoyed designing and creating. Whilst doing my A Levels in textiles after having my family, I discovered millinery. My final exam piece was to make a celebratory headpiece and I chose to reproduce the cloche that my great grandmother wore for her wedding in 1926. I studied at the Leeds College of Art and Design and gained an HNC in millinery.

My designs are a fusion of vintage and offbeat styling. I put my heart and soul in to each piece that I create. I only use luxurious materials and make every piece by hand.

These designs are from my A/W collection, and can be ordered in different colour ways to suit the client. The prices for this collection range from £50 to £250.
