A rather lovely little styled shoot sent in to me by up and coming North West wedding photographer Sweetness & Light seems the perfect way to wind down towards the weekend in what has been a rather frantic week for this wedding blogger. Plans are coming out of my ears, and its nice to stop. draw breath. and enjoy this pretty and soulful portrait shoot, which leaves me with an overarching sense of calm. I hope that you enjoy it.

Lets hear from Natalie of Sweetness & Light about how and why this little bit of loveliness was put together: The dress featured was created by a local dress maker and designer, sourced from an original vintage Vogue 1950’s wedding dress pattern. It hadn’t been modernised in any way. Our model, a real bride isn’t a frill lover, so we went for a figure hugging timeless piece. I tried to style the shoot as “true” vintage, than the modern twist you see so often used at the moment.

To add an unusual touch we shot in an empty industrial factory space for an urban twist. I think this makes the bride’s style really stand out and gives the images a sense of melancholy.

The stunning headpiece is by Dolly Millinery, and the button bouquet from I Heart Buttons. The buttons included original vintage pieces and finds which really added the authentic finishing touch.
