This wedding blog has never featured a Real Wedding shot entirely in black and white before, so when Mark of Tierney Photography sent today’s feature to me, I was enchanted by how much beautiful detail is picked out when you work in grayscale.  Mark’s images are always gorgeous and often bursting with colour, but for this happy couple keeping it simple is stunning.  Enjoy.

Let’s hear from Tracey: We got engaged in the Dominican Republic, in September 2006 and married on 6 August 2011 at Wath-upon-Dearne Church followed by Cutlers Hall in Sheffield.  Wath Church is a beautiful building and we wanted a traditional wedding – my parents were married in Church and are still happily married 36 years later.  Cutlers Hall is fairly local for our families and such a beautiful building inside.

We dressed to impress! My wedding dress was called Cabaret and was by Ian Stuart from Blissful Daze in Sheffield .  My bridesmaids wore dresses (that’s a long story) made by a local seamstress with help from my mother and family friend Mandy.

.

I carried a hand tied bouquet of orchids by Petalis – White with pink centres with sequin leaves, diamantes and pearls entwined.

We travelled in a Excalibur and our bridesmaids travelled in a Edwardian style convertible by MGM Wedding Cars. All our guests travelled between our venues on a 1959 AEC Regent V vintage double decker bus from The Yorkshire Heritage Bus Company

We had a tall white chocolate covered cake which was covered with draping chocolate and chocolate flowers from Rachel Edwards. We also added a sweetie table which I made myself.

We had a magician to entertain our guests throughout our drinks reception and early evening and in the evening we chose a live band called the Jukeboxes which we hired through Alive Network.  They were absolutely fantastic!

After the wedding, we honeymooned for 4 nights in Dubai followed by 2 weeks in Maldives.  Pure bliss!

My top tip for other Brides Up North is be organised early to allow you time to enjoy the final week  of excitement – relax and enjoy your day cause no matter how many people tell you – you won’t believe it but your day really does fly past!
