What better way to start Saturday than a beautiful and quirky styled wedding inspiration shoot with more than a hint of Alice In Wonderland theme and sent to me by Sarah of Vintage Wonderland? I’m not usually a fan of too much fiddling with colour in photographs, but the team use various methods to great effect here to add drama and ethereal quality to the set. Love it.

Sarah of Vintage Wonderland says: The photographs were taken in and around the grounds of Croxteth Hall in Liverpool on a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon in April. I had been wanting to create something special that would truly encompass the spirit and ethos of Vintage Wonderland whilst also allowing myself to indulge in my own personal delights; the fashion, culture and elegance of classic times.

Whilst keeping the classic theme in mind I wanted to extend the shoot to include some of my more quirky ideas, and to meet the demand of the ever popular Alice in Wonderland theme. Both the models and Kate had a good feel for what we were trying to achieve so simply allowed themselves to be part of the moment, and I think we captured everything just right.

The shoot was demanding as we only had a short time to set up, get the models prepared, and get the shots we wanted. Croxteth Hall was open to the public the whole time we were there, so we can only imagine what the onlookers must have been thinking when we were hanging tea cups from the trees; we had some funny looks. The staff at Croxteth Hall were fantastic and gave us pretty much full access to the hall, and even gave us a room specifically for make up and costume changes; the models felt like stars for the day. We were so impressed with the volunteers at the hall we even featured them in some of the photographs.

At Vintage Wonderland we really want people to see that we can style something special for their wedding. Whether it is a sophisticated ‘High Tea’ look for a wedding breakfast, recreating a bygone ere for their room layout, or adding a touch of nostalgia to their photographs; the Bride and Groom should know we are there to help them make the best of their special day.

With regards to the future for Vintage Wonderland? Well the ideas just keep on coming; so I will be constantly on the lookout for new props & crockery, new locations, and new future Brides and Grooms so I can continue doing what I love; showing off our beautiful crockery in such elegant surroundings.
