This afternoon’s real wedding took place at the stunning Belle Epoque boutique hotel in the gorgeous town of Knutsford, Cheshire, where we just so happen to be holding one of our fabulous Luxury Wedding Fairs THIS SUNDAY. So ladies, if you like what you see register here to attend the event, which will feature some of the area’s very finest wedding suppliers whilst showcasing the unique venue! We love that today’s bride and groom styled the venue with pretty rustic details and delicate blush blooms, perfectly demonstrating how The Belle Epoque’s spectacular spaces work beautifully with a variety of different themes and colour schemes.

We got engaged in August 2014. We were on a road trip through California. We had just climbed to the top of a waterfall in Yosemite and that’s where Dan popped the question!Our wedding date was 6th August 2016. Dan is a teacher so we wanted it during the summer holidays, we were also hoping for a warm day, and luckily we had great weather!
We had a church ceremony in Warrington, followed by a reception at The Belle Epoque, in Knutsford. We chose The Belle Epoque as we loved all the décor and it has a beautiful terrace to sit out on. The hotel is also yours for the day, we liked that it was private.
We went with a rustic theme for the wedding. We made our invitations using Kraft card and carried this theme through in terms of the table plan and favours etc. We also had logs on the tables, which were underneath crates made by my dad that were holding flowers.
The colour scheme was blush pink and creams, with the groomsmen in navy blue. I had seen lots of flowers I really liked in blush pink and thought it was the perfect colour for the time of year.
My dress was from Cheshire Brides, in Frodsham. It was a fitted dress with a low back. I knew I wanted a dress with this type of back, and again thought it fitted in with the time of the year.
Dan and his groomsmen wore navy three-piece suits from Slaters in Manchester, while the bridesmaids were in blush pink maxi dresses from Coast.
To provide our transport on the big day, we hired a traditional wedding car with a soft top roof, from Limo-Scene, in Leigh.
Kate Williams was our photographer and we would most definitely recommend her to others. She makes you feel so at ease on the day and captures all the perfect moments.
For my wedding flowers I carried a bouquet consisting of sweet avalanche roses, bridal protea, chin chins, lambs ear and eucalyptus. The flowers were from Diddibox Flowers, in Sale. We used the same flowers to decorate the venue and had eucalyptus leaves scattered on the tables.
As favours we made little boxes and filled them with an assortment of sweets. We then tied the boxes with ribbon, which had a heart attached with the guest’s names on, so they were also used as name place settings.
A friend of the family made our wedding cake. It was three tiers consisting of fruit cake, lemon cake and champagne and strawberry. The cake was decorated with white icing, hessian ribbon and real flowers.
For the wedding breakfast we had a starter of pate with brioche toast and chutney, followed by main of chicken, confit potato and green vegetables, and our dessert was lemon tart. We picked these following a tasting evening at the venue as they were our favourites from the dishes that we tried.
To provide entertainment, we hired the band Vibetown. My parents saw them at a previous wedding and were really impressed. Following their recommendation, we went to Harrogate to watch them play and booked them that night!
We would most definitely recommend The Belle Epoque to other brides and grooms. The staff there could not do enough for us and all the rooms were beautiful and the terrace was lovely to sit out on. The wedding planners at the venue make sure everything runs smoothly for you so you can relax and enjoy the day.
Our whole wedding day was amazing! I was worried beforehand about being nervous in the church, but found that on the morning I wasn’t nervous at all, just excited! I would do it all again tomorrow!
We went on honeymoon to Riviera Maya, Mexico, which was amazing, and very hot! We went on a few trips and days out and on other days just enjoyed soaking up the sun with a cocktail in hand.
My top tip to other Brides Up North would be to plan, plan, plan. Just try and be as organised as possible. We did a lot of the planning early on so when it got nearer to the wedding, we found we weren’t stressed as there wasn’t much more to do. This meant that we were able to relax right up to the big day!
