Get ready for a big pastel-coloured dose of inspiration! Jane of Jane Beadnell Photography has whipped up a candy coloured style that will whet your appetite for planning your own big day!
Keeping everything bright and colourful, Jane, the team at Ambience York and a socially distanced superstar line-up of fellow suppliers have worked with a complementary palette of pink, lemon, lilac and peach, tying the florals into the colour scheme for this sugar-sweet outdoor setup at one of our very favourite Yorkshire wedding venues.

INSPIRATION
Jane says: As wedding suppliers, we are itching to get creative since so many weddings have had to be postponed. We wanted to give engaged couples some inspiration, happiness and positive vibes going forward when planning their wedding, and lots of pretty details to look through. We were also really missing the wedding season and all the lovely stuff that comes with a wedding day so we wanted to create something special we could be proud of, really get giddy about making it all come together and then share with you all.
LOCATION
We wanted to create an outdoor ceremony and wedding breakfast area, as going forward there may be more options for couples who fancy an ‘outdoor’ wedding. Bunny Hill has a wonderful space for outdoor ceremonies and has the most beautiful natural space under a canopy of trees, ideal for this table set up and perfect for our English weather.
STYLING
Ambience York were in charge of venue styling. With the banquet dining style hitting the wedding world in a big way and more couples opting for an outdoor setting, we wanted to combine the two and we created an intimate banquet under a magical canopy of fairy lights from Love Lights The Way. We styled the table with beautiful premium peach linens to add a feeling of luxury whilst also working with the natural surroundings, delicate gold details to lift the colours, creating a soft and summery feel with a magical overhead canopy to frame the overall look. Gold accents were introduced in the form of decorative votives and the stunning beaded charger plates, which really lifted the look and provided opulence. The peach tones were then brought into the styling again with coloured linen napkins and which added further depth and a nod towards the pastel trend.
For the ceremony we wanted to use the open space to allow the view to be the backdrop of the ceremony, to compliment the setting and florals we added layered candlelight at varying heights to make the whole look much more 3D. To finish the look we styled the chairs with subtle pink chiffon drapes and a delicate flower head tucked in.
Taking inspiration from the beautiful floral bouquet Poppy Pickering created a collection of wedding cakes and favours to create a perfect table setting. Various sized wedding cakes were designed for either a small, intimate wedding or more of a grand affair. Sugar floral inspiration was drawn from Leafy Couture’s stunning dahlias and roses.
Leafy Couture used a delicate but zesty palette of pastels for the shoot. The flowers included scabious, zinnia, delphinium, hydrangea, eremurus, spray roses, vuvuzela roses and incredible hydrangea plants. The feel for the flowers was elegant, light and summery to compliment the bridal gowns and to contrast to the dark tones of the forest. We loved the look of the long table with vases down the centre for a dramatic feel with height in the tall vases, then florals in smaller vases, scattered on the table and on the place settings.
Via the stationery side of my business, JB Creatives, I created a floral stationery set using the shoots colour palette of peaches, pinks, soft lemon with a hint of lavender. I designed wrapped wedding invites, menus and layered place names. With a soft pink wax seal, different papers and textures all gave the stationery that super elegant and luxury look. I have found this style to be very popular at the moment with my wedding client couples.
ATTIRE
Little Pearl Bridal’s first dress, Lunella by Willowby by Watters, is a dreamy illusion tulle gown, with sparkle stones in a nude colour tone. The second dress was Maudie by Willowby by Watters. An off-the-shoulder neckline with draped sleeves and beautiful botanical embroidery. The Willowby collection is the ultimate in boho chic, soft romantic lines, incredible movement and beautiful colour tones that work perfectly with the peach notes in this shoot. Little Pearl Bridal actually have a Willowby Designer Weekend from the 4th to the 6th of September, perfect for those girls in love with the boho chic look.
The groom wore a navy tailored three-piece Marc Darcy suit with warm brown waistcoat and Jenson Samuel Shirts pale peach tie to incorporate the colours from the shoot’s palette.
HAIR
The hair, by Chrys Chapman, was a combination of elegance and effortlessness. In the first look, with the jewelled dress and more elaborate hair accessory by The Bobby Pin, she created a modern, loose updo. The second look was more relaxed, but still dramatic, with fresh flowers woven through a textured goddess plait. The accessory was a blush and gold hair comb, made with blush enamel flowers with crystal stone stamens, twinned with gold leaves and crystal bead sprays on a gold comb.
RESULTS
It was drizzling when we arrived but as soon as the first of hundreds of beautiful pastel blooms were unloaded the rain clouds seemed to lift and the wind dropped. Bunny Hill said this was the perfect shoot for showing the importance of choosing suppliers that really complement each other.
We wanted the shoot to show off the woodland and the possibilities for a ceremony or dining beneath the trees with absolutely no wellies or hay bale seating. This shoot showed an elegant country wedding styled to really tie in with the natural surroundings.
Sarah at Leafy Couture has also promised to come back and create an installation befitting the beautiful giant oak at Bunny Hill from which the bridal swing hangs. They’ve already said that they would love to see our team of very creative and immensely talented ladies back at Bunny Hill – we all literally have our creative thoughts synchronised and have created something truly magical.
