The stunning Bunny Hill Weddings, a barn venue in Yorkshire, is the perfect setting for a truly memorable celebration and looks just perfect with the softest blush palette used in this styled shoot. As a rustic barn, the space lends itself equally well to either a rustic theme or a more modern look.
Led by Kim of York-based international wedding planners Dreamboats & Carousels, this shoot was a combination of creative input from a talented and really lovely team of suppliers – including several of our amazing UNVEILED Network Members!

CONCEPT
Kim says: We wanted to create a beautiful shoot with lots of pretty inspiration and blush pinks, but with a modern twist. Soft elegance with a bold edge! The working title for the shoot was ‘Blushing With Style’.
LOCATION
We wanted somewhere that would fit the romantic, blush theme but also embody something more modern than the traditional barn. Bunny Hill was the perfect choice; with it’s intimate and naturally lit ceremony room and large reception hall, with a staircase to the exposed floor above. We knew that a modern twist on a traditional blush theme would work in this stylish setting. The large open space was ideal for the plush furniture hired for the shoot, showing a relaxed and cool way to enjoy post-ceremony aperitif drinks!
STYLING
The styling is my signature style; modern and elegant but with an edge. I chose to go bold and playful with colours of raspberry and golds, pinks, pale greens and white throughout the shoot, from the elegant three tiered cake by Grace Eva Cakes with gold edging, the velum stationery from Blossom & Root Design with white writing, and the vibrant florals by Flower Style Beverley – with a hint of cacti and succulents for a modern twist!
Crystal glassware, gold patterned plates and individually ribbon-tied gold cutlery for the tablescape gave a touch of style, glamour and cohesiveness to the whole table set up. The ‘A’ arch for the ceremony (from Elizabeth & James Events) was decorated with pops of pink and green flowers, and scattered succulents at the base and aisles, and the succulent plant pots were even spray-painted gold too.
ATTIRE
We wanted to show the distinction between a stylish blush gown that was romantic and more traditional, contrasting with the ‘evening dress’ look which was modern, fun, and a little bit cheeky with the mesh-exposed mid section! Elizabeth Lucas provided the stunning dresses; the blush design by Willowby by Watters (light, airy and designs capturing free-spiritedness) and the ‘evening’ gown by Nicole Milano (more statement, bold Italian designs), which coincided with the styles and concept for the shoot.
Jewellery by Sarah Vuong Bridal Jewellery and The London Victorian Ring Co. completed the looks.
BEAUTY
Parlour Makeup Studio opted for a neutral lip with the makeup for our models, and a bold eye; again balancing the traditional with contemporary. We wanted the shoot to provide new inspiration, but it also includes lots of traditional wedding colours and details which would appeal to many couples.
The bride’s hairstyle by Paige Lauren Bridal was romantic and effortless to complement the dress and theme of the day. Involving texture and loose ends, she looked effortlessly beautiful. The bridesmaids had a half-up style, as the hairstylist always recommends bridesmaids to go opposite to the bride hairstyle. We kept their hair down with a modern effortless twist Adding the hairpins and hair vines to all their styles really finished the look.
RESULTS
Due to the venue being so big and open, it was an ideal location for a styled shoot during these times. Maintaining social distancing was easy and there was plenty of space for all suppliers to manoeuvre. It was fantastic to collaborate with a team of individuals who hadn’t all worked together before, and to network with people again after so long of being unable to see suppliers in person.
We aimed to capture the ceremony shots, evening tablescape, seating for aperitif or evening relaxation, and some outdoor photos and footage too, which we achieved. We wanted to maximise everyone’s creative input by getting these different looks captured, showcasing the venue’s gorgeous exterior spaces as well as it’s interior beauty. The furniture hire was a real highlight, not only because the collection was brand new and we were the first to shoot it, but it provided a sociable and socially distanced ‘rest area’ for our suppliers between shooting in different places!
