Dinner A Deux – The Witchery by the Castle, Edinburgh

Julia Smith

.

Let’s not forget what this blog is all about…wedding shoes? dresses? diamond rings?

.

No, love! L.O.V.E!  Sometimes amid all the dress fittings, cake tastings, guest list arguments and wedding fairs its easy to lose sight of that.

.

So, here at Brides Up North, in the run up to St Valentine’s Day, I thought it might be fun to do a little “print off and put under his pillow” series on my favourite romantic restaurants across the North.

.

Whether you are hoping he’ll pop the question soon, needing some quality time away from wedding planning or wanting to remember what being a newlywed is really about  (and it’s not writing thank you letters, let me tell you!), check back every Thursday night until 14th February for my delicious dinners a deux!

.

First up, an adorable eaterie on Edinburgh’s Royal Mile: the multiple award winning The Witchery by the Castle.

This is a wonderfully decadent setting, for a very romantic evening.  Granted, it’s not cheap, but it’s very very special.  The best bit?  You can stay the night"! (It’s a 5* hotel boutique hotel too)! In gloriously gothic surroundings, you will want to luxuriate and even be a little bit naughty!  Dannii Minogue even described it as “the perfect lust den”!
