How did Popits Cake Pops begin?

I love home baking and whilst looking for ideas on cake web sites, I came across an American site and I loved the idea of cake pops. These were new and the possibilities were endless and following extensive research and with the support and encouragement from my wonderful husband and family Popits Cake Pops was born.

What is your background?

My education and professional experience started out in photography and art – designing cakes is an art that I enjoy very much.

I am a Wife and Mother of two with a creative eye and 12 years’ experience in cake decorating and nothing makes me happier than creating new designs and sharing my creations. I am known for my creativity and my work is my passion. I listen to my clients’ choices, show samples of previous work and offer ideas to compliment their interests. I always deliver what I promise.

I am currently based from home, but my ambition is to open my own unit. I can deliver throughout the United Kingdom.

What type of cake pops can you make?
.
At Popits Cake Pops we specialise in novelty cakes which can be designed to compliment any theme or event. They are simple but delicious bespoke tiny truffles of moist chocolate cake dipped into melted chocolate and garnished with a variety of sprinkles or drizzled with chocolate and packaged in individual cellophane wrapping and tied with a ribbon on a stick. They are fun, fashionable and ideal for people who want to make a unique statement, whilst at the same time satisfy a range of tastes. I love hearing about new ideas so if you have an idea that you don’t see on my site, just give me a call. My ultimate goal is to design cakes that are beautiful to look at and delicious to taste.

Which is your favourite Popits Cake Pops design?

My favourite design is a marble effect – it is eye catching and classically ageless – perfect for any theme.

What celebrity’s wedding would you like to make cake pops for and why?
.
I would love to make cake pops for Holly Willoughby. I could incorporate classic romance with modern contemporary as she epitomizes today’s modern woman. She is feminine, sexy and so on trend. I would do trendy monochrome and vibrant block colours to compliment her personality.

What sort of cake pops would you have made for the Royal Wedding?

I would have done sophisticated White Shimmer cake pops with hand painted entwined initials. For the fun aspect, I would have done Brit Pops – these proved very popular at a recent Wedding Fayre.

Have you made any really unusual cake pops?
.
My most unusual order was for an Elvis themed event. I had to make Elvis’ head with his trademark black quiff, the outcome was amazing.
