Yorkshire brides, if you can’t make it over the Pennines, don’t despair, as the lovely ladies of The Wedding Affair are putting on a special event just for you. Brides Up North usually works with The Wedding Affair to promote and attend their gorgeous events, but sadly as I can’t be in two places at once I’ll be an absentee this Sunday. Have a cocktail and a slice of cake for me, and enjoy what is sure to be a fabulous and useful day out at this beautiful Yorkshire wedding venue.

The Wedding Affair will be at Swinton Park, Ripon this Sunday 30th October 2011 from 12pm to 4pm. You can expect over forty superb exhibitors, entertainment, music, sushi, cocktails, birds of prey, a bridal competition to win a holiday to the Maldives and gift bags sponsored by Molton Brown. Everyone is welcome, and the event is free admission.

Swinton Park is a castle hotel, an ancestral home and an outstanding wedding venue. Surrounded by two hundred acres of parkland in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, the secluded hotel and grounds enjoy a gorgeous setting. A wide range of function rooms for a ceremony, wedding breakfast or celebration are available, along with thirty guest bedrooms. The hotel’s kitchen (which has won some awards in it’s time) places an emphasis on seasonal fresh produce sourced from the surrounding family estate and the hotel’s walled garden. They also have an excellent wine list, which is very important!
