.
Dare I say it? Sometimes, just sometimes, I am all quirked out.
.
Individual styling, a fresh fun approach and doing things your way are very much to be encouraged, but when everyone is going all quirky on you? So “quirky weddings” become a cookie cutter style trend rather than celebrating individuality and thinking out of the mould? Well, it’s not just not quirky anymore. And it’s just not interesting.
.
Don’t think you need to be quirky to be cool. Be true to yourself people! If kooky isn’t naturally in your nature, sometimes I reckon that keeping things classy is a more sensible style choice. I don’t mean sensible as in boring. I mean sensible as in stylish. And luxury always feels good.
.
Although I’m sure this afternoon’s Featured Supplier Teresa from wedding stationer Uberfly Invites could bat a quirky theme right out of the park, it’s her subtle, beautiful wedding invitations and focus on luxury finishes that really caught my eye.

What is the story behind Uberfly Invites?
.
Uberfly started trading back in 2009, I set the business up on the back of my redundancy from regional management. I had worked in the corporate arena for many years and my creativity was restricted due to the industries I worked in. I had always had a passion for design and creating things so I took this opportunity to unleash my passion and ran with it. My Dad and sister have a printing business so it made sense to encompass their printing expertise. The business largely has been built on personal recommendations, certainly in the early days, but this last year I have wanted to grow the brand and client base which has been helped by the website and relationships I have with bridal boutiques across Cheshire.

.
Who is an Uberfly Invites bride?
.
Sassy, stylish with lashings of taste. They know what they like and want to make a statement.

Where are you based? Do you sell purely online or do you work by appointment?
.
I am based in Stockton Heath, Cheshire. My business is both online and through pre booked face to face or telephone consultations, which I can hold late nights and weekends. My clients are not restricted to the North West, I seem to be attracting a lot of brides from the south, particularly London and even Australia! I obviously have lots of brides from the North of England and tend to hold a lot of consultations here at Elmhurst, Stockton Heath. It gives brides the chance to sit down and have a good look at my portfolio. Due to the bespoke nature of a lot of my work, brides get the opportunity to have input in the design/colours/finishes whilst not having the stress of actually producing it! I do also go to clients homes if they wish, but as we are so conveniently located of the M56 and M6, clients find it easy to come here where I can fully display the design portfolio.
.
.
What wedding stationery collections are currently available?
.
My portfolio consists of Couture, Vintage, Simple and Elegant, Romantic and Simply Printed designs. I have a whole range of styles including pocket-fold, cheque book style and designs with a unique pocket to the reverse which are proving very popular. All the designs come with matching or complimenting on the day stationery. Due to the range and quality of stock I source, I can offer flexibility in colours, embellishment choice and card options at no extra cost.
.
.
.
.
What products are available in each design?
.
I offer the full package in each design, so before the day – save the date cards, wedding invitations and evening invitations. On the day – order of service/order of the day, table plans, place name cards, table name cards, menus, favour tags, personalised lotto card holders, personalised favour boxes, wedding post boxes all to match the design or theme. Along with thank you cards for when it is all over! I tend to find that the bride and groom opt for something luxurious for the day invitations and taper down for the evening invitations, whilst maintaining design consistency across the rest of their stationery.
.
.
Do you have any new stationery designs coming up for next season?
.
I am constantly researching what is hot and what brides want whilst thinking of new designs and ideas. I have recently launched my Snow White design which is perfect for brides planning a winter wedding. Watch this space for new products coming up in the coming months including favours.
.
.
.
.
Can you do bespoke designs?
.
I have an existing portfolio which sets the base for most of my clients choices, with the option to change card, designer papers, ribbon colour, design colours and embellishments fonts and wording.
However, I also offer a full bespoke service, where I sit down with my clients and work through wants, wishes, tastes, styles and themes and take a truly bespoke concept through to the end unique product. Every design can be fully personalised and there are no restrictions as everything is professionally printed giving me greater scope to take it to the next level.

What would be your top five tips for Brides Up North when choosing their wedding stationery?
.
Give yourself enough time to choose your supplier, decide upon what you really want and see a sample. The person you are dealing with is just as important as their products. Try and start looking at stationery about 6 months before your big day, a year before if you want to send save the date cards out.
.
Ask friends, family and other wedding suppliers for personal recommendations or seek out testimonials from other brides through blogs, Twitter or Facebook.
.
If you see something you really love, go with your gut feeling. Try and find something that reflects you and your groom’s personality.
.
Don’t be afraid to ask, you may not think something can be done, but it could be!
.
Make a mood board of all things you and your fiancé like, cut images out of magazines and stick to card or board – it doesn’t all have to be connected to weddings, just of things you love. This will enable you to really understand what each of you like and give you a greater insight that will work for both of you.
.
.
What would be your no-nos for Brides Up North when choosing their wedding stationery?
.
There is nothing wrong with wanting to create your own invitations, just be mindful of what you are getting into. Putting additional pressure on yourself can really set the stress levels soaring!
.
Try not to please everybody – this is you and your future hubby’s day so even though everybody will have an opinion (well meaning of course) try and stick to what you want.
.
Don’t get too hung up on wording – there is no wrong or right way!
.
.
.
.
Does all the stationery have to match?
.
No not at all, in fact as we have seen trending in fashion with the clash and contrast of colours, prints and styles, this can be done with wedding stationery and is becoming ever more popular. Of course, if you want everything totally matching then it is still beautiful to do so and lots opt for this. However brides don’t been to get hung up on everything been too matchy. There can be elements of the theme mingled through the stationery, but in a more subtle way. I find a some of my clients choose an invitation totally different to their actual wedding day design to put their guests off the scent of the theme of the day! Then others like to have an exact match to a bridesmaid dress or choice of flower. All I would say is that there is no right or wrong way of doing it, as long they love it and it reflects their personalities then roll with it and enjoy!
.
.
Which of your ranges would you recommend for a Bride on a budget/ if money was no object?
.
Our simply printed range means you can get a beautifully printed invitation on gorgeous card with some of our quirky designs or printed decorative elements for a great price, perfect for brides on a budget or those short on time.
.
I LOVE both the vintage birdcage and grace pocket-fold invitations – they are totes gorgeous and will really wow guests!

How long do you take to turn around an order?
.
After an order is placed either online or following a consultation then pdfs to proof are produced within a week. Once proofed there is a three week turn around to complete and despatch. Typically save the dates/invitations/on the day stationery are separate orders and are produced at different times. The simply printed range can be turned around at shorter notice if absolutely necessary.
.
.
What are your prices, are you doing any special offers?
.
The price list can really cater for all budgets, with prices starting at 95p going through to £6.00 an invitation you can spend as little or as much as you like. There are quantity discounts to enjoy with a 5% discount over 41 and a 10% discount over 81 within each design.
.
I am running two offers at the moment. If you "like" Uberfly’s Facebook page and place an order before the 30th of September 2012, you get a 10% discount on everything in addition to any quantity discounts. We also hire beautiful metal easels to display a table/seating plan (I find most venues tend to have tired and rather dated easels which can spoil the look of a stunning plan). If you order any table plan before the end of September 2012 we are reducing the hire fee to just £15.00 for TWO days.
