How did Audio Test Pilots begin?
.
We originally formed Audio Test Pilots as a result of us working together on various collaborations and projects. When Audio Test Pilots formed, Anneka and Tom were writing and performing their own music across Europe whilst Richard was producing music for short films and television.

Our main objective in forming Audio Test Pilots was to provide a top quality, professional service whilst sharing our passion for music in a live setting. We aim to play music that will appeal to people across all ages and genres. This is reflected in our diverse repertoire of songs.

Who makes up your band? Tell us about yourselves?
.
Audio Test Pilots are a three piece outfit comprising of vocals, guitar and bass, playing live to samples that are performed, recorded and programmed by ourselves in our own studio, giving it a truly authentic and accurate sound.

Collectively, we have been performing in bands for over fifteen years. We each have toured the UK in various musical outfits, have countless live playing experience and have performed alongside and worked with many well established artists and music producers. We have all had our own musical works published, have composed for TV and film and have travelled abroad playing and recording music. We pride ourselves on being a hard working band and we are guaranteed to impress.

What sort of music do you play?
.
The Audio Test Pilots song repertoire is extremely varied, covering well loved songs from the past five decades. We perform a mixture of well loved cover songs by artists such as; Black Eyed Peas, Van Morrison, Stereophonics, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Kings of Leon, Michael Jackson and many, many more.

What can a bride and groom who book Audio Test Pilots expect?

We are a professional and extremely approachable band who offer very personal and bespoke wedding sets to all our clients. We understand the importance of live music at a wedding. The bride and groom can expect multiple consultations leading up to their wedding day so everything they require is in place to ensure that their guests have the best experience possible.

On the wedding day itself the bride and groom can rest assured that we will arrive early, set up (and pack down) in an unobtrusive manner and be ready to perform according to the running order of their day. We will perform with lots of energy and passion to keep the guests dancing the night away.

What sets you apart from your competition?

No two performances are ever the same, in the same way that every wedding is unique.

Most other function bands perform two fixed 45 minute sets but Audio Test Pilots can offer a more versatile approach to your wedding to suit your individual needs and requirements. If you have a favourite song that you would love to hear or a first dance song that is not on the repertoire list, then we are happy to consider requests providing we are given sufficient notice.

As a trio, not only can we perform on a large stage, but we are also the perfect choice for smaller venues. With no drummer, we do not necessarily require as much space as other conventional bands. We are also experienced in performing at venues with sound limiters installed. Unlike other bands, we are able to control our volume exceptionally well as we provide our own sound engineer at each venue.

We also provide a number of bespoke wedding packages at prices affordable in today’s economic climate. Our attention to detail and professional approach with our clients sets us apart from our competition. We can also offer an intimate and highly sought after acoustic set which proves very popular at drinks receptions.

We can offer many different wedding packages. We take the time to work closely with our clients, to meet their requirements and we personalise our performance to ensure that the occasion is extra special.

Audio Test Pilots have many different packages to suit your wedding day needs. We are very happy to tailor-make a package to suit your needs and your budget.

Whilst Audio Test Pilots are a perfect choice for an evening wedding reception, the vocalist and guitarist offer an acoustic package (Acoustic Test Pilots) for the daytime celebrations. Both acts can be booked separately, however a discount applies if you book both acts for your whole wedding day.

Ceremony and Drinks Reception:
.
Acoustic Test Pilots can provide the perfect atmosphere for the start of your big day. Performing songs whilst your guests are seated, providing your processional song (why not ask us to specially write your own song to come down the aisle to?), and providing a few songs whilst you both sign the register.

Please note: that our electrical equipment is for indoor use only, please make sure that you provide electric and shelter if you require music outdoors. Alternatively, we can play unplugged.

Wedding Breakfast:

Acoustic Test Pilots can play a selection of songs from their repertoire as yourselves and your guests tuck in to your reception breakfast. This option provides tasteful, background music to lighten the atmosphere amongst your guests. A great talking point for your guests to break the ice between one another.

Pre-Party Evening Entertainment:

What if a Bride & Groom ask you to learn a song? Can you do that?

Yes! We aim to provide the best service possible for our clients and we endeavour to accommodate as many requests as possible. If you would like us to play a song live that is not currently in our set list then please ensure that you request this as early as possible, to allow us adequate time to prepare and rehearse.

What are your personal favourite pieces to perform and what really gets a party started?
.
We each have our favourite songs to play and we endeavour to tailor sets to suit the event. However, we find that songs such as Sex on Fire, I’ve Gotta Feeling, and I Predict A Riot are popular crowd favourites.

Can you give Brides Up North an idea on price?
.
Audio Test Pilots start from £500 and acoustic packages start from £300. Discounts apply when booking the band and the acoustic package for the same event. Where are you located and will you travel?

We are happy to play almost anywhere in the world, however we are based in West Yorkshire, UK and therefore offer more competitive prices in this area. Please e-mail us with your venue details for a quote.

Anything else that we should know?
.
We provide our own professional sound and lighting equipment. We also provide a haze machine and moving lights and have public liability insurance for up to 1 million pounds in the UK. We can play from one hour to three hours (or more) worth of music and are happy to play a wide variety of venues up and down the UK. We can also provide music in between sets at the client’s request.
