Hannah says: Mark asked me to marry him on 7 April 2011, on a bike ride over Threshfield moor above Grassington, and we were married on 2 June 2012 at St Oswald’s Church, Askrigg followed by a reception at Bolton Castle, Wensleydale.

We chose both venues for the character, the fact that it was a place that we visited often and both loved and for the gorgeous views and that there was plenty for the guests to explore on the day. We chose a colour scheme of aubergine and ivory.

I chose a corset bodice with an a line skirt, purchased from Carlton Couture in Ripon and made by Trudy Lee. My bridesmaids wore dresses by Jasmine, from Carlton Couture, Ripon.

We spent the morning getting ready and my make up was done by Jo Leversuch of Make Up By Jo.

I carried a combination of cream roses, dark purple peonies, sweet peas and freesias, by Sheila Danby Flowers in Ripon.

The best bit of the whole day for me was the church service and saying our vows. We also very much enjoyed the dancing in the evening!

We were drive from the church to the reception in a 1972 Rolls Royce Corniche.

We don’t like fruit cake so we had a three tier sponge cake with chocolate, lemon and plain flavourings.

We ordered hand made chutney and jams from local producer Raydale Preserves for our favours.

We had a ceilidh band in the evening and all the guests were taught various traditional dances.

After the wedding we honeymooned in Thailand for 16 days travelling to Bangkok, Chaing Mai and Koh Phangnan.

My top tip for other Brides Up North would be to relax on the day and enjoy the getting ready process. There’s no point stressing over last minute things at that stage, just enjoy it!
