Refreshed and relaxed after her hols, our regular guest blogger Katy of What Katy Did Next is back and better than ever. She may have a touch of the post-holiday blues, but I just knew that even that was sure to be gorgeous! Just check out that powder blue tulle. Enjoy.
.
Katy says: After the fabulousness of Zooey Deschanel’s Powder Blue Reem Acra Dress at the Emmy’s last week, Julia requested a wedding inspiration board themed around having your dress be your “Something Blue”!
.
There is more and more pale powder blues emerging on the catwalk and on the bridal scene and I love it. Not quite the traditional shade for your wedding dress, brides are becoming increasingly daring and adding colour to their big day attire.
.
This particular blue is so beautiful I’d be tempted to leave it as the only colour in your wedding palette. However, I have added touches of a faded gold and nude to make the board sophisticated and chic. Metallic shades can instantly make this colour look amazing, i have picked subtle touches of gold in the chairs, bridesmaid belt and matching lace on the gorgeous Marie Antoinette style heels.
.
There is a regal style running through the board from the Wedgewood wedding cake, stationery and shoes but the palette can easily be styled down for a casual outdoorsy wedding. Simply use wild flowers in your decor and more props such as pale blue Mason Jars, painted wood signs and delicate bunting.
.
What do you think, are you brave enough to have your dress be your Something Blue?

Remember: the plan is to share a new inspiration board in this time slot every other week, either compiled by myself, regular guest blogger Katy or YOU: get in touch with your own ideas and inspiration boards! We’ll be discussing our inspirations behind the images too so it’s simply going to be a whole load of lovely.
.
If you are a little less arty but in need of inspiration and still want to play along, we will also be taking requests for colour schemes and themes and making bespoke boards for my readers. Please contact me to suggest a theme or colour scheme.
