Two gorgeous Real Weddings in one day? Why not!

Today, I’m off to the South of France for the gorgeously romantic wedding of Rochdale couple Jenna and Gary, shot by Haydn Rydings Photography. If you curl up really small, I can fit you all in my suitcase too. Let’s go…

Jenna says: We got engaged 6 years ago at home after enjoying a lovely meal at Nutters Restaurant in Norden, Rochdale, and we were married on Saturday 8th September 2012 at St Affrique, Aveyron, South of France.

We were looking for a unique, intimate venue, somewhere not too far but warmer than the UK. Styling wise, I used my wedding planner Laura Tickle to guide me in the direction that we took and to source suppliers. We wanted an elegant and romantic French theme with lots of candle light and chose a colour scheme of oyster, pale pink & ivory.

My wedding dress was an Amanda Wyatt design called Barcelona and I bought it from Broadbents of Middleton in Manchester. My bridesmaids wore long gowns from Coast and the men wore suits from Red Herring at Debenhams.

As we were abroad we created welcome packs for our guests with an itinerary of the weekend’s events along with a few bits such as slippers, hangover relief, eye masks etc. We also provided pashminas for the ladies in the evening along with flip flops to use in the evening to help tired feet!

My favourite moment by far was seeing my husband to be waiting for me at the end of the aisle.

We chose a string duo for the service followed by a band in the evening for our poolside party.

We chose a traditional French wedding cake; a profiterole tower with flower decoration – and a huge sparkler!

After the wedding, we honeymooned at the Sensatori resort in Mexico.

My top tip for Brides Up North planning a destination wedding would be to hire a wedding planner!
.
More importantly enjoy your day; don’t get hung up with the unimportant things as it goes so fast. The only thing that really matters is that you marry the one you love!
