Well, good evening everyone! I’m a little late for today’s opening post aren’t I? Well, I’ll be honest with you, sometimes even the most enthusiastic blogger needs some down time.

The last week or so has been an utter whirlwind here at Brides Up North HQ. Two fabulous Brides Up North Wedding Exhibitions at two very different locations (I can’t quite believe our beautiful event at Thorp Perrow was only just over a week ago – that is madness, madness I tell you!), all the prep that goes with it, a handful of freelance deadlines, signing the contracts on some amazing new venues for our shows – more news soon – a full wedding blog schedule and a flying visit to the Smoke for White Gallery London.

Oh, and a nine week old baby.

Sometimes, you just have to hit the stop button. After a day away from my little daughter (I left for London at 5am yesterday morning and fell into bed last night at 1:30am) baby cuddles were my absolute priority. The two of us have spent the most blissful day snuggling up and I feel relaxed and recharged.

I did think about taking the whole day off, but writing is my thing, and it feels strange not to check in with a few lines whilst the little one naps, so I thought I would break silence to remind you about a date for your diaries this coming Thursday.

My colleagues and Featured Suppliers AMV Live Music are hosting another of their brilliant Battle Of The Wedding Bands evenings at The Baltic Centre For Contemporary Art, Newcastle Upon Tyne on Thursday 23rd May 2013 from 7pm. These events are so good that I am happy to put my branding on them in support (and I hardly ever do that without complete control) .

I can’t be there on Thursday (see nine week old baby excuse above), but having seen how these evenings go down first hand, I know that you are going to have an absolutely rocking night out, cut through the confusion of choosing a wedding band and come away knowing that your big day entertainment is going to be the utter business.

With free entry and open from 7pm till 11pm plus some cheeky deals on food and drink, hear five of the region’s top acts do battle and find the perfect music for your big day.
