We’re starting the week with the best of intentions (all wholesome and outdoorsy) with a gorgeously simple styled shoot “down on the farm” sent to me by Brides Up North Featured Supplier Janet of J Broughton Photography who heads up a talented collective on North West wedding industry suppliers.

Get your first fix of fresh air, and a big dose of beautiful here on the blog this morning with the prettiest vintage gowns and most stunning bridal accessories.  How much do you love this wedding hair?!

Janet says: Over the summer Heidi from Glorious Tiaras and I had “met” on Twitter and soon realised that we were both keen to put together a styled shoot. A few coffees and cakes later and we’d decided on a theme that mixed vintage and rustic styles but more importantly that we wanted to use it as an opportunity to bring together and showcase different wedding professionals.

We were fortunate to find a brand new rustic wedding venue, The Wellbeing Farm that was a perfect location for the shoot. Vintage Lane Bridal provided the genuine vintage wedding dresses that perfectly accompanied Heidi’s amazing vintage brooch bouquets and tiaras and hair and make up was expertly styled by Jaki Ann.  Laura from Love My Trike brought along Tilly the vintage ice cream tricycle with a variety of props and Jane from Pearlie Queen Collectibles loaned some wonderful vintage accessories. On the day we had two fantastic models, Madeline is an aspiring model and although James works at the farm and didn’t have too much choice in getting involved he was great too !

As you imagine with an outdoor shoot we were very weather dependant, our first attempt was on a day with a forecast for dry weather, and it was.  Or at least it was until just after the hair and make up was done and we all ventured outside, at which point it hail stoned, rained, thundered and lightened and all with a twenty minute period!  We abandoned the shoot and met again a week later when the weather was much kinder, a little mist in the background but with the sun peeping through we had the perfect weather and had a great time putting together something creative, showing off everyone’s talents and eating Heidi’s homemade flapjacks.

The day was such a success that Heidi and I have decided we would love to do this on a regular basis. Our next project involves a group of art students and is likely to be something quite theatrical with a gothic twist.   We are keen to hear from wedding professionals who would like to be involved in future creative projects and can be contacted via our websites at www.jbroughton.co.uk or www.glorioustiaras.co.uk.
