When did Last Night Of Freedom launch and what’s it all about?
Last Night of Freedom launched in 1999 as an advice service, but then we quickly moved into organising weekends for hens and stags. Whilst this is still our bread and butter, we maintain our ethos of providing expert advice over and above what we sell. For example, we will advise you on the best clubs and restaurants in town, any hidden gems that would make a trip really special.
How can you make Hen or Stag weekends special?
It’s about recognising that everybody is an individual and what works for one group might not work for another, that’s why we tailor our packages for the groups’ specific requirements. From the customers’ perspective, the best thing they can do is to relax and remember that this is about spending time with their mates and we’ll worry about the details.
Tell Brides Up North about the “Build Your Hen Weekend” feature on your site?
This was revolutionary when it was first launched in 2005, the first in the industry. It allows customers to put together their ideal weekend and get a ballpark price for it. It means that the customer is always in control.
What sort of activities can you include?
The list is almost endless, from spa days, cocktail making classes and go karting to machine gun shooting and private yacht hire. You name it, we probably do it. We’re always looking for new and exciting things to include in our range; it means greater choice for our stags and hens, and lots of opportunities to go on reccies!
Can you sort out trips abroad as well as in the UK?
Absolutely. At the moment we offer around 25 overseas locations, from Dublin and Barcelona to Reykjavik and Las Vegas. We even offer a trip to the North Pole, but so far no one has taken us up on that challenge!
Do you do any standard “packages”?
There’s nothing standard about our packages, but we do have tried and tested combinations that are shown as popular options on our site. These can give people a good idea of what we can do for them and work as a great bit of inspiration for people feeling a bit overwhelmed at organising a great last night of freedom.
How do you source the accommodation, trips and activities that are available on your site?
Here at Last Night of Freedom, it’s all about the personal touch. Unfortunately this means we all have to fly all over Europe and spend time as the guests of countless hotels, bars, clubs and activity centres. The fact is that you will struggle to find anything on our website that at least one member of our team hasn’t tried for themselves, especially in the overseas locations.
It’s tough, but somebody has to do it…
Describe the process if a Hen or Stag were to enlist your services?
We chat to them about what they are looking for from the weekend, location, number of guests, budget, any specific requirements and then we tailor a package to suit them. When they are happy with that package they pay a small deposit to reserve that for the whole group. We don’t even need exact group size at this point as we realise people drop out and it’s difficult to get definite answers.
Once booked your group have access to your own online area where you can all log in and pay your deposits and eventually your balance. There is also a messaging system on there so you can contact us or other members of the group.
Can you give some examples of fantastic Hen & Stag weekends that you have organised?
Our most popular Hen combination would usually be something like:
2 Nights 3 Star hotel or apartments
Friday Night – Evening meal & club entry
Saturday – Dance class followed by a cocktail class
Saturday night – Night club entry.
Our top hen locations are Newcastle, Edinburgh and London but we get people going all over the world, from Prague to Vegas and everywhere in between. You don’t just have to stick to the girly stuff either, we offer all sorts of activities from quad biking to pole dancing.
Tell us about your Hen Party accessories?
Largest range in the UK, cheapest prices in the UK, best service in the UK. That’s all guaranteed.
We go to great lengths to have everything people could possibly want. We specially import a lot of our products meaning we can provide things that our competitors simply can’t offer. We also travel to various trade shows throughout the year (Spring fair in Birmingham, Party Expo in Houston Texas, International Toy fair in Nuremberg, Germany) to show ourselves off. As industry leaders, manufacturers of hen party products come to us for advice and ideas and we can work with them to get the best possible results for our customers.
Can you give Brides Up North an idea on packages/ bespoke prices?
Obviously each experience is different, to suit every budget and taste; the prices range as much as the customers! For accessories it’s a little easier, a good guide would be: sashes from £1.49, head boppers from £1.49, Pack of dare cards from 99p, personalised T-shirts from £7.99.
