Is there a grander setting for a wedding than a castle? We think not having feasted our eyes on the pics from today’s real wedding.
Having secured their dream venue, Tom and Stef let their surroundings do the talking, just adding a few simple touches in
elegant vintage
décor whilst working around their timeless blue colour scheme. The floral arrangements are particularly stunning, and we love the maids’ vibrant cobalt dresses too!

We got engaged in Las Vegas. It was the second day at the end of a night out. Tom got down on one knee and produced the most amazing ring!
We got married on 28th August, which was the Bank Holiday weekend, giving people more time to recover. Chiddingstone Castle was our chosen venue. My dad got married there and I had visited as a child so it felt special to me.
We didn’t have a theme as such, instead just choosing to let the beautiful venue do the talking and making choices that were sensitive to that. Our colour scheme was different tones of blues as it’s my favourite colour and I think it’s timeless too.

My wedding dress was a princess style design by Mon Cheri. It was exactly what I had imagined wearing on my wedding day since being a little girl.
Tom wore a navy three piece suit from Paul Smith and to match the groomsmen all wore navy suits too.
My bridesmaids looked beautiful in cobalt blue maxi dresses from Coast.

Kate Gosney captured our wedding day for us. We both felt totally comfortable with Kate and she was never in the least bit invasive. The shots came out beautifully and she put 100% into it which is why we would most definitely recommend her to other wedding couples.

Our wedding flowers were roses and hydrangeas and my bouquet was tied with lace, which was decorated with pearls. All the arrangements were done by Distinctly Floral and were exceptional – they lasted for almost two weeks after the wedding!

To decorate the venue, our florist also provided vintage items such as books, strings of pearls and jugs to give a delicate appearance.

As wedding favours we gave guests classic Italian bomboniere. My mum bought them all in Italy and then we made all of them up.
Our wedding cake was by Urban Pantry. It was a three tier design with edible lace and pearls. The bottom tier was lemon drizzle flavour with Limoncello. This was another Italian touch and we also had Italian canapes and dishes for our wedding breakfast.

For our entertainment we hired a string quartet to play at the ceremony as it suited the orangery at the venue perfectly. In the evening we had a DJ. To make sure guests were enjoying themselves we also had a variety of games on the lawn, a London taxi style photo booth and a crepe van to serve up treats in the evening.

Following our wedding we would recommend the castle to other couples. The venue was perfect and the staff made sure that the day was stress-free and that everything ran smoothly. We thoroughly enjoyed our whole day, especially the London taxi booth at night – that was a lot of fun!

After the wedding we went on honeymoon to Mexico – it was a lovely beach holiday with lots of day trips too.

My top tip to other Brides Up North would be to give yourself plenty of time to plan so that you can relax and enjoy every part.
