as we introduce new Brides Up North Sponsor, Rebecca Juliet Bridal, to the blog.Through her north-west based studio, talented designer Rebecca offers brides-to-be a stunning choice of handmade dresses through her capsule collection and also gives ladies the option of a fully bespoke dress, for something totally unique.
A big believer in delivering quality and fabulousness, all of Rebecca’s dresses are created using pure silks and lace, meaning they feel as good as they look.
In addition to taking over the blog this morning to tell us all about her gorgeous designs, Rebecca is also inviting our readers to her fabulous launch event on Thursday 31st March, at the beautiful Eaves Hall near Clitheroe, from 7.30pm to 10pm.
During the evening ladies will be treated to a catwalk show featuring Rebecca’s designs, advice and inspiration from some of the area’s top suppliers as well as sweet treats and a glass of fizz (of course!) Full details, including where to get tickets, below.

How and when did Rebecca Juliet Bridal come to fruition?
rebecca says:
I have just set the business up although it has been dream of mine for many years since I made my own wedding dress in 2002. I am a designer and seamstress and have been sewing since I was 13 and studied textiles and fashion at university so this is my natural domain and I love it! Rebecca Juliet are my first and middle names and I wanted my business identity to have a strong emotional connection to me personally and so Rebecca Juliet Bridal was born.How would you describe the feel and look of your studio?
Our bespoke space is a living, breathing studio. The studio is in Chipping in the breath-taking Forest of Bowland, and is a stunning backdrop to creating wedding dresses – it is a truly inspirational place to work! The studio is modern yet intimate designed in my brand colours of muted greys and pinks with a nod to vintage feel with my French style mirror and furniture; there are rolls of gorgeous silks and laces and a rack of carefully handmade gowns, veils and accessories. I have books and photos to inspire my lovely brides-to-be as I want this to be a fun and creative place for them to come and bring their dream dress to life.
Tell us a little about your lovely dress designs…
Brides-to-be can chose from one of the dresses in my capsule collection or we can work together to create something completely unique; however I only work with pure silks and lace so I can ensure I create something truly fabulous for them. My sample collection dresses are all currently a size 12, however we can make dresses for any size. Most of my dresses range between £1,000 and £2,000; though some full lace gowns are more.
Do you also offer accessories?
We have a selection of silk tulle veils in a variety of lengths with lace and silk edgings; we also have a number of jackets, capes and belts to complement the dresses.
What research/preparation would you advise brides to do before visiting you?
My only advice to brides is to remember that having bespoke, handmade wedding dress is very different to buying one off the peg. It is a fantastic experience – which I believe is more exciting and in many ways exclusive – however they will need a bit of patience and vision as their gown comes to life. I promise they will not be disappointed!
Do brides need to book an appointment and if so how long will the appointment last?
As a studio we work on appointments only; however as we don’t have official opening times we can be really flexible when we see bride- to-be; including late evenings and Sundays!
How do you help a bride find or achieve her dream dress?
Most brides have an idea of what they believe they want; it is important to listen to their thoughts and then offer some advice around what they should firstly try on from the collection. As a designer I have a good idea what can work well and as we offer a bespoke service there are very few reasons we couldn’t create a dream dress for every bride who comes to us.
Are there any particular trends that you are noticing coming through in bridal wear at the moment?
Lace remains a huge trend which I love – though quality lace is key; simplicity also appears to be on trend, which is fantastic as I believe a dress should never overshadow a bride and I agree with Coco Chanel when she said: “a girl should be two things: classy and fabulous”. Simple designs, well made in high quality fabric are exactly that. Separates are also appearing on the catwalks; I have some in the range and love the versatility they give.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
Everything! I get to design and make wedding dresses! I particularly love coming up with new ideas and playing with fabric and then I love creating the dresses. Watching a sketch become a beautiful 3D dress always makes me smile….and what I love most is when people say “wow”, when they see the gown!
What sets your studio apart from others?
We are unique; truly bespoke design led studio boutique, using only silks and lace, yet our prices are accessible.
Do you have any special events coming up that will be of interest to our readers?
I’m holding an official Rebecca Juilet Bridal launch event on 31st March at the beautiful Eaves Hall near Clitheroe, from 7.30pm to 10pm.
The event will preview my debut collection, supported by some very talented local wedding experts including: Sarah Valentine Photography, Lisa Marie Cakes, Brides Little Helper, Baie 16 Beauty, Felicity Farm Flowers, The Remedy Acoustic Band, Total Entertainment Solutions DJ and Captcha Photo Booths.
Guests will be greeted by a breath-taking venue and treated to a complimentary glass of prosecco on arrival whilst, being mesmerised by the lovely voice of Hannah Rose from The Remedy. They will then enjoy a catwalk show and be spoiled with lots of sweet treats from Lisa Marie Cakes; followed by a big prize draw, which every bride-to-be will be automatically entered into, where they could win all sorts of amazing things to bring their dream wedding to life.
They can then enjoy the beautiful location and look round one of the most stunning wedding venues in Lancashire, enjoy another drink at the bar, look at the dresses on the models who will mingle amongst the guests, and admire the talents of the other wedding experts, who will be on hand for a chat and to show them ideas to inspire them for their big day.
Tickets – which can be purchased via this link – for brides-to-be are complimentary and their guests are just £5 each. All guests will receive a glass of bubbly on arrival and sweet treats, in addition brides-to-be are entered into the prize draw and will be given a goody bag.
