We’re getting your Monday off to an incredibly beautiful start here on the blog by sharing this stunning seasonal shoot, captured in one of Sheffield’s beautiful green spaces.

Timed perfectly to coincide with the city’s blossom trees flowering, we love the effortless beauty of this shoot, from the natural backdrop to the simple styling.

Those of you planning a

spring-time celebration

might want to take note as we hand over the blog to photographer Shelley Richmond, who captured the pretty, to give us all the details on how the look was achieved.

shelley says:

This shoot came about as part of a little photography project that I worked on with bespoke wedding dress designer Kate Beaumont. We worked on a whole years’ worth of seasonal shoots, embracing nature and the gardens of our home city of Sheffield as a location. This was our spring shoot, timed to coincide with the blossom flowering and the first buds of spring appearing at Sheffield’s Botanical Gardens.

We wanted to keep the styling simple and so we carefully selected two of Kate’s bespoke dress designs as well as two of her original vintage collection, which fit the season.

The spring blossom was echoed by the details in delicate headpieces by Debbie Carlisle as well as the soft, dewy makeup created by Amanda Humphreys and the undone hairstyles by Kirsty Glasby. The stunning flower arrangements meanwhile were created by Emma Venn at Moss & Clover, again to reflect the season.

We were all a little concerned on the day of the shoot as it had been raining hard for the duration, but (thankfully) by the time we came to head outside to shoot, the clouds parted and gave us some beautiful late afternoon light.

We love the city’s Botanical Gardens, it’s a favourite place for both myself and Kate, and her family, and so it was the perfect setting for three of our seasonal themed shoots.
