We’re getting Monday off to an incredibly pretty start with this stunning Cheshire real wedding.

As huge fans of pastels so we’re totally in love with all the

sweet & sugary

tones incorporated into the décor, blooms and attire.

The bride and groom certainly steal the show (as they should!) with Jonathan opting for an alternative light blue suit and peach tie, while Nicola looks every inch the model bride in a fitted fishtail gown #hot!

nicola says:

We got engaged at home in June 2014. The proposal came just before we were leaving for the airport to go on holiday to Egypt.

We set the date for 15th August 2015 as it would fall in the school holidays. We were also hoping that we would be in with a chance of sunshine at that time of year and we were keen to go on honeymoon in September.

Our venue was The Bowdon Rooms in Cheshire. We really liked the style, size and location of the building. The wedding planner there was also amazing from start to finish.

We chose a vintage theme for the wedding in line with the stunning venue and incorporated lots of flowers into the décor. Our colour scheme was pastels of peach, mint, powder blue and blush pink, which again went nice with the venue and also suited the time of year.

I chose a fitted, strapless, fishtail dress design by Mori Lee, which was the exact style and fit that I wanted. I got it from J’adore Bridal Boutique in Altrincham, where the staff were amazing.

On the wedding day my hair and makeup was done by Danielle Horan who is very skilled and has lots of experience. She was very professional and kept me really calm.

Jonathan wore a light blue suit from Moss Bros with a navy waistcoat and tan shoes. The look was inspired by outfits we had seen on Pinterest. The groomsmen wore navy suit and waistcoats, which were from Slaters.

The bridesmaids’ lovely peach dresses were from eBay.

On the day of the wedding I was transported to the venue in a lovely vintage style car hired from Kensington Wedding Cars, which happened to be located next to my work.

Photographer Steve Grogan captured our day for us. We would most definitely recommend Steve to other brides and grooms. He was amazing from beginning to end and the pictures are better than we could have ever imagined. Steve’s documentary style is so original and exactly what we wanted.

Barkers Florists provided our bouquets, which were a mixture of roses and chrysanthemums in lovely pastel colours.

To decorate the venue we had viols and specialist lighting, provided by the venue. Barker’s then decorated giant candelabras with flowers for the tables, which were named after places that Jonathan and I had visited. To provide a little fun we also had some disposable cameras and bubbles on the tables.

Our favours doubled up as place settings. They were handmade boxes with guests’ names written on which contained silver heart-shaped sweets.

Flissy Cakes based in Altrincham created our wedding cake. It was a three-tiered design, each layer a different flavour, and it was decorated with pastel coloured flowers made from icing.

For the wedding breakfast we chose a personalised menu with an Italian theme. To start there was a choice of meatballs or ravioli, then for main a choice of chicken or seabass and dessert was giant profiteroles. For those with a sweet tooth, we also had a sweet table filled with delicious treats which guests could help themselves to.

To provide entertainment in the evening we had a band called High Frequency who played all different kinds of music – which the guests loved! The venue really lends itself to having a live band as it has a stage for them to perform on.

Following our wedding I would certainly recommend The Bowdon Rooms to other couples. It provides a great blank canvas for you to decorate however you like and the wedding planner Karen is great and helps guide you through the planning stages. The venue is also reasonably priced.

My favourite part of the day was the car ride after the ceremony when it was just me and Jonathan. We drank champagne and went to Denzell Gardens with our photographer Steve for a little private photoshoot.

We went on honeymoon to Italy and toured the north of the country, visiting Rome, Sienna, Florence and Pisa over ten nights. We both loved Italy and spent our time there going on lots of trips, eating lots of lovely food and drinking plenty of wine!

My top tip to other Brides Up North would be to spend money on the things that people notice, such as the dress, plenty of booze, lovely food and great entertainment. Guests aren’t generally bothered about things like favours or the evening food. Enjoy yourself and remember it’s your day and the most important thing is that you are getting married.
