For the Yorkshire couples amongst us, we have a very special date for the diary: The Wedding Event at Denton Hall, Ilkley, Sunday 3rd November 2018, 11am till 2pm, FREE entry.

This Sunday 3rd November, we’ve enlisted the help of 30 luxury wedding creatives who plan to fill it’s stately rooms with wedding inspiration to help make your day even more perfect.

The Hall is set in the heart of 2,500 acres of colourful, secluded, landscaped grounds and the exquisite interior of the Hall itself complements these beautiful surroundings. Featuring two magnificent reception rooms full of stately grandeur, with smaller, more intimate areas including an oak-panelled library and a charming period dining room you are truly Lord and Lady of the Manor at Denton.

Watch out for the Hall’s many charming features including a spiral staircase, hand-crafted genuine vintage Mouseman oak furniture, Adam style fireplaces and ceilings and crystal chandeliers. There are also 24 newly-refurbished bedrooms and two luxury suites – including an elegant bridal suite.

Where is the Denton Hall located?

The team says

: The Hall is nestled in 2500 acres of private parkland just outside the picturesque town of Ilkley, West Yorkshire. We are also a 25-minute drive from Skipton, Harrogate and Leeds

Can you tell us a little about the history of the venue?

The Hall was built in 1776 as a family home and designed by renowned Yorkshire architect Sir John Carr. Throughout the years the hall has passed between many families up until the 1950s. The Hall was then empty until the 1970’s when the halls current owners – NG Bailey LTD – purchased it as its head office. The Hall still operates as the head office Monday to Friday, but on Friday afternoon the Hall is transformed into your dream country house wedding venue for the weekend.

How would you describe the look and feel of the venue?

If we had to describe Denton Hall in a couple of words it would be timeless elegance. Sympathetic renovations of the property throughout the years have kept the interior a beautiful soft colour palette and more minimalistic than other country houses of the same age (no swirly carpets, shelves stacked full of trinkets or heavy drapes here). Each room has been carefully designed with wedding celebrations in mind, making the spaces both beautiful and functional.

Can you tell us about the ceremony and reception areas and how many guests the venue can cater for?

With four beautiful ceremony rooms and a quaint village church just outside the gates couples can opt for a registrar led ceremony within the hall or a traditional church wedding. At the beginning of 2019 we had our exquisite spiral staircase licensed to host ceremonies. The ceremonies we have had so far in the spiral staircase have been spectacular, with the bride making her grand entrance down the staircase. Our maximum capacity for during the day is 100 guests.

What makes Denton Hall a special wedding venue and sets it apart from others?

Some of the reasons that make Denton Hall so special for your wedding is that unlike hotels and other venues we are not open to the public at all. Being nestled into the hillside, surrounded by 2,500 acres we really are a hidden gem. The only visitors we get are those attending weddings at Denton, we often hear comments from guests who live only a few miles away saying: “gosh I never knew this fantastic place was even here”.

Our team is here through the full journey with you, from the first time you come to have a look around to being here on your wedding day. You get such a personal service and warm welcome. We genuinely LOVE what we do and enjoy the weekends as much as you do and feel that this comes across in our passion and energy.

What sort of bride would be a Denton Hall bride?

A Denton Hall bride is a bride who wants a wedding that is timeless and elegant, one where you can relax with friends and family for a whole weekend with enough of a blank canvas to really make your mark.

How can your staff help to make the planning process easier and the big day amazing?

The staff work flexible hours which means many of our wedding appointments are held after work during the evening. In our quieter months we also have Saturday and Sunday appointments available. We don’t like to rush our couples so allow an hour-and-a-half for each couple – whether that’s a first viewing or your fifth. As well as being available in person, we are also always available via email or phone. As well as a final details meeting the day before your wedding, we usually try and catch up with each of our couples a year out to six months out then one to two months out too. We have a handy 12-month to go planner and three-month check list that each couple gets to help keep you on track. For those busy brides, or those living overseas, we work with the superb Bridal P.A. – a local bespoke wedding planning service

Can you tell us about the accommodation at the venue?

For wedding weekend accommodation, we have 24 rooms plus a bridal suite and junior suite on site – offering enough sleeping accommodation for 44 guests. The accommodation is available Friday and Saturday or just Saturday night. Several of our rooms can accommodate extra beds for children, and we have a mixture of doubles, twins and singles – so there is something for everyone. All our room rates include breakfast and costs are £125 per night for two people.

Tell us about your catering services and what makes them special?

Box Tree Events has been established for more than 15 years, being the sister company to the nationally acclaimed award-winning Box Tree Restaurant. We provide our clients with the highest possible standard, creating bespoke menus that mean something special to all of our couples.

Each wedding comes with its individuality, it is exciting to deal with the variety of visions that each of our bride and grooms propose, endeavouring each time to exceed their expectations.

We are always evolving and pushing forward, creating new innovative dishes but make sure it’s never style over substance, food is our passion and consistency is our aim.

We are fortunate to be based in the heart of Yorkshire, surrounded by a multitude of local artisan suppliers and seasonal produce which we incorporate into our menus allowing us to offer a broad spectrum of fresh local dishes for the big day.

Each member of the team is extremely knowledgeable and are able to guide and  advise our couples not only with the food element, but also with the full planning of the day, we have built longstanding relationships with a number of local suppliers and we have found  their passion and ethos to be the same as ours – making every wedding day ‘the perfect day’.

Any other exciting news to share?

At the beginning of 2020 we will be updating the furniture in our bar and library, plus getting all the usual repainting and freshening up we do each and every January – we like to always look our best for our couples.
