Pronovias For A Pretty Wedding At Le Petit Chateau – Victoria & Nathan

Katie Byrne

Victoria and Nathan knew that Le Petit Chateau was the perfect venue for them the moment they viewed it online – so much so that they booked it without even stepping foot inside it first.

Bringing a serious dose of French fancy to Northumberland, the jaw-dropping venue was the ideal location for this couple’s summertime wedding.

With a romantic colour palette of whites and pinks subtly infusing their celebration, the newlyweds and their guests enjoyed a day filled with fun, love and meaningful moments.

Swapping favours for cocktails and incorporating a travel-inspired theme for details such as table names and centrepieces, the celebration was firmly about the love story of Victoria and Nathan. The couple first met when they were both living in Australia and as a result had guests jetting in from across their globe for the celebration – and with that in mind, the August Bank Holiday weekend was the perfect time for the nuptials to take place.

Keep reading to see all the photographs from this sunbeam-dappled day – including Victoria’s Pronovias gown, the gorgeous group shots and those clever travel-themed decor details!

Victoria says

: We got engaged at Ayers Rock, Uluru, at the Field of Light in October 2017. We lived in Australia for five years – that’s where we met. I had no idea Nathan was going to propose!

Our wedding date was August 25th 2019. We chose this date as we really wanted a summer wedding on a Bank Holiday weekend. We spent our first five years together in a very hot climate so we felt this reflected our lives together to-date; plus, a Bank Holiday was perfect as we had guests who were travelling from all over the UK and Australia to join us for the big day

We got married at Le Petit Chateau in Otterburn. We viewed the venue online whilst we were still in Australia, fell in love and booked it without even viewing it in person! It was the perfect venue for us: quirky and beautiful. The grounds are absolutely stunning in rain or shine and the food is absolutely delicious, too!

I have twin brothers who are on the severe scale of the Autistic spectrum. They are non-verbal and require 24-hour care. We centred our ceremony around their comfort; this was the most important part of the day to us as it was vital they were with us. One of the twins was dancing in the aisle whilst waiting for the bridal party – Nathan said it was a lovely moment for everyone

We kept our theme fairly neutral, with pink and white flowers were used for decoration. We used the wedding breakfast to introduce our travelling theme. As we met when we were travelling, we named each table with our favourite places we had visited, with the centrepiece being a photo of us at that particular place.

The colours we used were white and pale pink. We used these colours as it was a bright, summery day and we felt they looked simple but effective.

My wedding dress was from the amazing Mia Sposa Bridal Boutique. It was the Pronovias ‘Epico’ dress, which was picked for me by Carole, one of the lovely ladies who works in the boutique. I hadn’t even considered that style of dress until she convinced me to try it on – and it was a clear winner!

The groom and groomsmen were suited and booted by Oxford House in Llantrisant, as Nathan is from Bridgend in Wales. They all wore blue suits with grey waistcoats and brown shoes.

I had five bridesmaids. They wore a beautiful Grecian-style dress in pale pink from Tonia Ann Bridal Wear in Washington.

I also had two flower girls. They wore beautiful ivory dresses from Debenhams as well as fresh flower crowns in their hair.

The amazing Kate Lilley did my make-up. She has been doing my make-up since I first arrived back in the UK, having been highly recommended by a friend – and now I can’t recommend her enough! Helping her was Emmy, who is also amazing and all my bridesmaids and my Mam commented on how beautiful they both made us all feel.

Lisa Cameron styled our hair and was fabulous.

We highly recommend Focal Point, the photographers who capture the most natural, meaningful moments without you even realising! Professional, friendly and very experienced… what more could you want?

Thank you so much, David and Paul. Our photographs are still the topic of conversation within our families and friends and we can’t thank you enough. Memories to last a lifetime, perfectly captured.

The team at One Digital Image were so professional and friendly, and helped massively to ensure the day run smoothly.

Philippa’s Flowers made our lovely displays and bouquets. We absolutely loved them. We chose white and pink flowers, with roses being the main feature.

We chose to keep things very simple; after all, the guests were what really made the day special for us.

Instead of favours we chose to buy everyone an extra cocktail instead!

Our beautiful wedding cake was made by Rebecca from Vanilla and Dreams Cake Design. Everyone commented on how delicious it was.

We chose very traditional starters and mains. We had soup or salad to start and either a roast chicken dinner with all the trimmings or a vegetarian option. We served our wedding cake as our dessert, along with berries, custard and fresh cream.

We supplied a selection of French white, rose and red wine, which were all a big hit with our guests!

We used AMV Live and booked Richard Sutton to sing during the day for a relaxed vibe. We then had a disco in the evening and also booked a photobooth for added entertainment.

Best bit

Our favourite part was saying our vows and then getting to enjoy the stunning grounds of the venue with all our lovely guests.

We went to Hong Kong, Bangkok and the Maldives for just under three weeks. It was absolutely amazing. Our final part of the trip was to the Kuramathi Island in the Maldives and it was pure paradise!

Stick together! Don’t be separated for hours saying ‘hello’ to different people – do it together. We did and we were very grateful to be given that very same piece of advice.
