Cupid’s arrow certainly hit its target with these two! We’re enchanted by the stunning shots of the rolling hills and Lake District vista that create the perfect backdrop for our lovely couple’s big day.
Smaller, intimate weddings have become quite the trend since Covid hit and we’re still very here for it. Paring back the styling and details can allow you to focus on the parts of your day that are truly important and let some of the traditional trappings go, if that’s what feels right.
Let’s catch up with the bride herself to find out why they opted for an elopement and all about their gorgeous location, The Dress and how keeping it simple was the best choice for them.

Proposal
We got engaged in London in September 2019. We went for a drive through central London until we reached Chelsea. We then walked to one of our favourite bridges, Chelsea Bridge, and that’s when Harry went down on one knee and popped the question. The sun was setting, the sky was bright orange and yellow, it was beautiful. The bridge was full of fairy lights too which created a festive ambiance. It was also really quiet in the street which helped!
Setting
We got married on the 21st of December. Simply because we wanted a winter ceremony. This was also a time when we knew our families could attend the wedding and would have a really good time. We love Christmas, it is our favourite season and favourite holiday so it was quite a simple choice.
We got married at Cote How in the Lake District. We had a tiny wedding so we only had a ceremony. We first wanted to get married in London because that’s our home but at the same time, we wanted something a bit different and more relaxed. The Lake District is known to be beautiful and calming so it was meant to be! Regarding the venue, we booked it because it is a family business and the hosts were really easy to work with. The cottage was also beautiful and so charming.
Dress
I chose a longline ivory dress with a laced corset. I wanted to go with something simple that I knew would suit and fit me. I also chose a cape instead of a veil to add a little touch of drama to my look. The dress is from Wed2Be.
Groomsmen
Harry went for a navy blue suit with a tie given by his dad. The tie was actually worn by his dad during his own wedding. The suit is from Charles Tyrwhitt.
Photographer
Our photographer on the day was the lovely Sophie Mort. We couldn’t recommend her more. She was brilliant. From the first time we talked with her to the wedding day, she was on it all the time. We are not very confident in front of cameras and Sophie made sure to take natural pictures and to make us feel like the prettiest bride and groom. It worked because the pictures are stunning!
Also, if you are adventurous and love nature, you should definitely work with Sophie because we hiked a mountain and went to a cave for the pictures. It was amazing.
Styling
We chose UNVEILED Network Member Tweedle Floral Design for my bouquet and for Harry’s buttonhole. We wanted the flowers to be festive and in the colour scheme of Christmas, so we had the chance to get a few gorgeous roses and some winter plants. We have kept a few flowers and we dried them to keep a memory of this incredible day.

We would recommend Cote How to anyone. The cottage was beautifully decorated and the scenery was just gorgeous. The hosts and the process of booking and organising everything were easy too.
Best bit
Our favourite part of the day was when we said “I do” and when we signed the paperwork. It felt real and very official. We still can’t believe we are married!
Advice
Our top tip would be to enjoy the day because it will go really fast. Enjoy your guests, and try not to stress too much because everything will be fine.
