This afternoon it’s time to join a pom-pommed bride to be be and her squeeze at the beautiful Bolton Abbey in West Yorkshire, as we share their engagement happiness… and test out the “wedding day makeup”!

Jenny says: We got engaged 3 years ago, on a tiny island in Borneo. James suggested we canoe over from the beach – it was a huge surprise.

We are getting married in July 2013 – the ceremony at Bolton Abbey, followed by a reception at the Devonshire Fell, Burnsall.

We met in first December 2003, briefly – then again in September 2004 when we got to speak properly. By complete coincidence we were going to the same rugby game the following day – so that became our first date. However, it was SO uncomfortably hot and sweaty that day sat in a beer garden after the game, that James cut the date short – and I cringed massively – until he suggested that we meet again later that night.

That second date was fab!

Our biggest wish for married life is for us to be happy and healthy, together.

We had an engagement shoot because it was included in Laura’s package, but having now done the shoot, I can see it was a great opportunity to get to know Laura a bit more and get used to being in front of the camera.

The shoot was good fun! A chance to hunt out all the good photo locations which will save time on the day. I also practiced my wedding make-up the morning of the engagement shoot to see how it looked on camera…
