What I love about this couple is their enthusiasm. When it came to planning their wedding they thought about what they wanted and did exactly that! A breakfast ceremony followed by brunch, a princess dress, a ring “bear” and a winter sports honeymoon were all on their wish list…

Bryanna explains it all: Mitch and I had no problem choosing our venue- it was the first and only one we visited after weeks of searching online. The outdoor garden setting at Tivoli Too, in Laguna Beach, CA, was exactly what we were envisioning, and the backdrop to the altar really sold us. I was glad it needed no additional decorations. Mitch appreciated that we’d also have a tent covering the reception, a necessary item for March’s unpredictable beach weather.

My dress was from Alfred Angelo. Every girl should get to play the role of princess on their wedding day if they desire! I wore a floor length veil for the ceremony in lieu of a train, layered over a elbow-length veil for the reception.

Our colours were pale honeydew green, found in our linens and bridal party attire, and dark raspberry pink, found in our gerbera daisy bouquets and DIY potted centre pieces, favour boxes, and my and my bridesmaids shoes.

Our bouquets were made of “real touch” silk flowers and no one could tell they weren’t real. I attached my “old, borrowed, and blue” wishbone pin to my bouquet- this pin has been worn by brides in my family for generations.

Mitch had the slightly unreasonable request to have a ring “bear” for our ceremony- unfortunately renting a bear cub to walk down the aisle is no easy feat! I surprised him by including the teddy bear he gave me years ago in our flower girl basket, complete with a tiny tuxedo shirt.

We had a slightly non traditional brunch reception after our 9:30 a.m. ceremony – our guests thoroughly enjoyed the strawberry crepes, chicken and artichoke quiche, and various muffins and pastries that were served by the in-house catering.

My groom’s one reasonable request- our wedding cake flavour was Funfetti! We personalised it further with the swiss dots and our bride and groom penguin cake toppers, courtesy of RedLightStudio on Etsy. ,

We sent our guests off with candy favour boxes, filled with green apple Jelly Belly’s and pink M&M’s. My mom and sister spent hours picking out the dark and light pink M&M’s from several pounds of the Valentines Day bags. They then surprised me by including some personalized M&M’s- reading “3…2…1…Blast Off!”, a silly tribute to our wedding date of 3/21/2010.

I sent this playful card to my groom the morning of the wedding. He surprised me by sending it back!

Our photographer Pamela Marches was an absolute dream to work with. Her quiet style and quick eye captured our entire day beautifully. She took full advantage of the painted mural and giant iron gates at our venue’s entrance to create a wonderful backdrop.

We went on a non traditional winter honeymoon, vacationing in beautiful Whistler, British Columbia. We had the most fantastic week snowboarding, snowmobiling, and taking a dog-sled tour!
