This Real Wedding in its beautiful outdoor vineyard setting combines modern touches with old fashioned charm. All in all, a wonderful result. Jody and Steve’s Real Wedding definitely hits a home run!

Jody tells their story: When Steve and I planned our wedding, the most important thing was that it feel like “us.”We’re not formal people, so that and all of the other details of the day were meant to make a formal occasion feel like an intimate party (with 100 of our closest friends and family!). .

We’re also both big baseball fans, so we wanted to try to incorporate baseball in some of the details of the wedding without having a “welcome to our baseball-themed wedding” feel. When we found a company that makes nonfloral boutonnieres, we knew that was exactly the kind of thing we were looking for. Each groomsman, our fathers and brothers, and of course Steve, had a boutonniere honoring his favorite baseball theme.

Because we met at the animal shelter, where we both volunteer, including our dogs in the ceremony was a must.

Our wedding venue was Elliston Vineyards in Sunol, CA. The team there, as well as our own wedding planner, Nicol, took care of all of the details, so all that was left was for us to enjoy our day.

We also used some of our favorite players from the Yankees (my favorite team) and the Giants (Steve’s favorite team) as our table numbers, and chose a subtle baseball theme for our table numbers and escort cards.

While I don’t know that it’s possible for a wedding to be perfect, it was perfect for us. If anything went wrong that day, we weren’t aware of it.
