The amazing York Place Studios sent me this fantastic Real Wedding ‘up North this weekend. Its a real corker! Sarah and Robin’s wedding is a modern love story in a beautiful historic setting, with lots of family connections!

York Place Studios sets the scene: The Bridal suite of The Old Lodge at Malton retains much of its Tudor influence: exquisite furnishings, a beautiful chandelier and a grand four-poster bed, upon which hung a dazzling stylish white dress.

.

As the beaming bride-to-be finished having her hair and make-up expertly styled by the very talented Helen Guy and carefully placed on her grandmother’s pearl necklace, she looked simply radiant and we knew this would be a truly unforgettable wedding.

Who shall we invite? What food should be served? Should we have a band or a DJ? How do we sort out the seating plan? What sort of flowers should we have? For every bride the build up to her wedding day seems to be full of more questions than answers, but for Sarah there was one question she could answer without a second’s thought: Where should we hold the ceremony?

.

There was only ever one place in her mind, the perfect place and one steeped in her own lineage and history. She chose to pay a personal tribute to the family she holds so dear by marrying the love of her
life in the very church in which her mother and father were joined in matrimony all those years before her.

.

The significance of St Mary’s doesn’t end there, however, as not only her mother and father, but her grandmother and grandfather and their parents before them had all been married in the sacred building. No wonder then that the most important day of Sarah’s life was brimming with perhaps even more emotion than usual not only for her but for her whole family.

.
It was an elegant affair. A traditional wedding to satisfy the gravity of the family history here, and one that Sarah’s great grandmother would have been extremely proud of.

For a wedding with such tradition there could be no better way to make an entrance than the classic open top horse-drawn carriage that pulled up outside of the Priory.

.

Out stepped three gorgeous bridesmaids dressed in gowns of stunning blue and carrying some of Natalilies beautiful seasonal flowers.

Then came Sarah’s father. The nervous excitement he must have felt as he arrived for his own wedding was replaced this time by a different emotion; pride. Pride was etched into his face and it was easy to see why as he looked at his beautiful smiling daughter.

As Sarah and Robin were finally united the pieces of the picture came together and it was clear that they would never be apart.

It was a charming service and the love between these two was plain for all to see. As they left the church amid a flurry of confetti, Sarah’s Grandma showed us a photo she wanted us to recreate. Each new married couple before Sarah and Robin have their own version of this photograph, taken in front of the delightful façade of the Priory: the Bride and Groom together for the first time.
