Over to Cocoon Photography: What is boudoir photography? Well, that depends on who you talk to. Wikipediaʼs description is “A boudoir is a lady’s private bedroom, sitting room or dressing room. The term derives from the French verb bouder, meaning "to pout". However, the reality is that boudoir photography is sophisticated, beautiful and chic.

A Cocoon Photography Boudoir shoot can take place at your home, a hotel or our studio. You donʼt need to live in a mansion or stately home, or book a room in a boutique hotel. Ideally, all we need is lots of natural light and space, but we do have lighting if needed.

Your day starts with a glass of champagne whilst you have your fabulous make-over by the talented Katy Messer of Make Up By Katy. There is no doubt that after having your make up professionally applied and chatting with Katy, your confidence will soar, and coupled with the beautiful lingerie you have treated yourself to, there will be no stopping you.

There is no denying it, the thought of standing in front of complete strangers in your underwear is nerve-wracking. Believe me, I have done it – see our blog post!

Even though Kim isnʼt a stranger, it was still very daunting. However, it is also very liberating. I am a size
14/16 (more of a 16 at the moment) and yet looking back at the photos, you couldnʼt tell that. This is down to the way that you are posed. Being a size 14/16, I cannot pose the same way as someone who is a size 6 as obviously our body shapes are different, and what works for my shape, doesnʼt necessary work for someone who is very petite.
