Brides Up North and Assassynation wanted to do something a little bit different to celebrate the Royal Wedding after seeing so many traditional or vintage style tributes. Gorgeous perhaps, but we wanted to liven the party up a little, be a bit naughty! I guess Brides Up North is the Prince Harry of bridal blogs!

The Harrogate Wedding Lounge lent me a huge – and hugely gorgeous – chiffon gown by Ronald Joyce, which we draped in union jack bunting by Little Bundles Bunting and roughed up by adding some studded boots, a leather jacket and aviators. A fabulous Swarovski Union Jack tiara specially commissioned (and worth over £1000!) from Tiararama plus a cute short veil (also from The Harrogate Wedding Lounge) completed the look.

Later, I slipped into an amazing tea length gown festooned with lace and beading by Maggie Sottero at The Harrogate Wedding Lounge. I added some wholly inappropriate Agent Provocateur heels, a gorgeous sparkly headpiece from Wedding and Baby (which you can win by clicking here!) and more lippy.

“Tough” isn’t normally in my temperament, so with my backcombed hair, heavy makeup and scowl, I felt a bit like Sandra Dee post makeover! John Travolta was nowhere to be seen though, so instead of breaking into a rendition of “You’re The One That I Want” I concentrated on throwing some shapes and getting into character. The result? A cool set of images from Assassynation to commemorate Cool Britannia’s biggest reason to celebrate so far this Millennium!
