Today, this wedding blogger is going to enjoy a day just hanging out and exploring my neighbourhood. I am always waxing lyrical here on the blog about thinking local – whether that’s supporting the wonderful wedding suppliers in your area, buying a glossy wedding magazine bespoke to your region or reading this here wedding blog, I think Northern talent deserves snaps. Well today I am going to practice a bit of what I preach, leave the car in the driveway and enjoy the best that my doorstep has to offer.

Breakfast in the local deli with hubby and my parents who are visiting us today (Hello Mum and Dad!), then browsing some nearby independent boutiques, a stroll around the park and a stop at the newsagents on the way home for the Sunday Times Style supplement. Perfect.

Pretty by name, pretty by nature. This styled shoot with its pink tulle, sparkly ballet flats and excellently dressed wedding cakes ticks absolutely all the boxes for me. A dream. I’m almost relieved that it’s a styled shoot and not a real wedding, otherwise I might spontaneously combust with jealousy.
