As a wedding blogger, I was expecting to chat to lots of brides to be, but I have also had a number of emails recently from wedding guests. The topic could be anything from wedding gift ideas to bringing your baby protocol to plus one panics, but one theme that comes up time and time again is that age old what to wear conundrum.
.
I thought that I would help out the sartorially challenged amongst us by creating a series of posts to guide you through the fashion minefield that attending a wedding can be. First up, a swanky black tie wedding.
.
The first rule of dressing for a wedding is always do what it says on the tin – adhere to the dress code. If you don’t, you will just annoy the bride and end up feeling silly. This is a time to blend in, but with panache!
.
If the invitation says black tie that means dinner jackets and dickie bows for the guys, long gowns for the girls. Most importantly, your long gown should be any colour other than white, ivory, champagne or very pale pink. Show some sense woman!

Here are two similar looks at two different budgets. Sexy senorita!
