If you follow the wedding blog on Twitter @bridesupnorth (and if you don’t, please do) then you will know that this little wedding blogger recently spent August Bank Holiday weekend a la Paris with my lovely husband.
.
Paris is special to us because we got engaged under the Eiffel Tower on a scorching hot day in May 2009. He surprised me by turning up with a sparkler when I was on a girly weekender (all masterminded to perfection with the help of my friend Kylie), but that’s another story. Needless to say on this trip, we chose a hotel near to the famous landmark and spent a lot of happy times reminiscing (him, quietly, about how clever he had been and me, loudly, trying to make him recreate the moment). (He wasn’t up for it).
.
One thing I did notice though, was a hell of a lot of brides posing in front of Le Tour Eiffel et environs. On a closer look, they weren’t brides at all, but models – making the most of France’s most famous backdrop.

When researching Eye Candy for the wedding blog, I came across these classic shots from Cymbelline Paris’ current collection, and they made me smile. As fate would have it, yesterday I visited a fabulous Northern stockist of these gorgeous gowns – The White Room Bridal Boutique, Sheffield – and it was, as they say across the Channel, un fait accomplis. I had to share this Eye Candy with you today. Add a croissant to your morning coffee (unless you are following the Brides Up North Bootcamp!) and indulge!
