Now, when I started tinkering with blogging way back when – a long time before the wedding blog finally went live in November of last year – I never dreamed that one day I would be hosting a networking event for nearly 100 of Yorkshire’s finest wedding industry professionals. Hell, even when I announced my plans for a “Brides Up North Tweet Up” back in June, I was still envisaging me and about ten other lost souls down the local pub.
.
But my little wedding blog has grown in popularity and profile just a bit since then (thank you for reading!) and as these things have a tendency to snowball: one small event became three larger regional events. Before I knew it I had a HUGE guest list, a very long waiting list and three rather big events supported by a national bridal glossy – the wonderful Wedding Ideas Magazine – to organise. Yorkshire was the biggest of the lot. No pressure then. Time to call in the professionals.

After a bit of a lie down and a few deep breaths, I put together my team of #BUNtweetup Yorkshire helpers. These talented bunch are absolute stars and I would recommend them time and time again to brides looking for great suppliers for your wedding. They are friendly, patient, kind, enthusiastic, creative, professional and above all big time fabulous at what they do.
.
They know who they are. But I want YOU to know who they are. Huge HUGE thanks to:
.
Dine Services at The Mansion (stunning venue with attentive, slick and professional service); the beautiful, organised, calming and outright fab Katie from Perfect Days Vintage; the gorgeous and very very cool Jo from Vintage Twee; lovely lovely Lynne from Stems Design – an exceptionally talented and enthusiastic florist who decided that an orchid centrepiece just wasn’t good enough – we needed a tree (!); creative cake lady Skye from The Whimsical Cake Company (who made some teeny tiny white rose cupcakes and some very moreish pink cake pops); the fabulous girls at Fancie who branded my scrumptious Brides Up North cakes to the max; the amazing Andy Garfitt and Matt Tordoff of Greyeye Photography who constantly have me in stitches (book them now!); the super cool dreambooth – have a go, you’ll love it!; an amazing string quartet The Dotted Crotchets who rock pop songs better than Katy Perry hersef; the super fun Sean Elliott Photography with his chalk board of one liners; Andrea from the online treasure trove And All Things Nice; Sheree at Cute Maps for, well, making the maps cute; fantastic sport Forever Film on cameras (Spielberg better watch out for this Steven) and the super talented Helen at What A Do Weddings who designed my kick ass goody bags.
.
And I LOVE them. Each and every one.

Wedding industry hobnobbing is all very well and good, but since this bridal blog is first and foremost for YOU, the real life Brides Up North planning your own wedding, I thought it might be nice to share some of the detail shots in a special blog post before I post all the pictures of the event itself. After all, these images could easily be part of a candy coloured wedding inspiration shoot. I hope that you find some ideas here for your own big day. Any questions at all, or if you simply want to be put in touch with the suppliers who made this all happen (I have a burgeoning little black book of bridal contacts and I am at your service) – you know where to find me.
.
Enjoy the delicious details. Try not to lick the screen!
