How did Vintage Styler begin? What is your background?
.
I started in the wedding industry 7 years ago, as a bridal makeup artist and hair stylist and discovered that I LOVE everything about weddings, so I decided that my experience in bridal hair styling was a great background to begin selling the accessories too.
.
.
.
.
What is the concept behind Vintage Styler?
.
I noticed so many brides going for vintage hair accessories but wanted my advice for styling before they bought the real thing. Vintage Styler developed through this concept: gorgeous accessories teamed with style advice from a bridal hair stylist! We encourage brides to email us their questions, we’re happy to help out with styling and what accessory will work best with their hair type, style and dress.
.
.
.
.
Which designers do you stock?
.
We support independent UK designers, and stock a range of hair accessories from Debbie Carlisle Bouquets, Fabledreams and Jo Barnes Vintage amongst others, and some stunning garters from Florrie Mitton and A Alicia.
.
.
Tell Brides Up North about your vintage style hair accessories?
.
We have tried to create a varied collection of pieces which covers combs, headbands and side headbands, all of which are of a high quality, are comfortable to wear, and of course, vintage style.
.
.
.
.
What eras do your products cover?
.
We try to cover styles from the 1920’s to 1970’s, each vintage bride is different and we love to see how people interpret ‘vintage’ in their own style.
.
.
What about your other products? Tell Brides Up North about your parasols and garter ranges?
.
Our garters are all beautifully handmade, some using original vintage fabrics and brooches, some using vintage inspired lace and sparkles. Gone are the days of tacky, garish garters, these are definitely ones you will want to show off and keep as an heirloom for years to come.

.
.
Which are your best selling products?
.
Hair piece trends change all the time, at the moment our forehead bands are popular, they can be styled into a polished 1920’s flapper style or a relaxed boho feel of the 70’s. The gorgeous Aphrodite garter is our all time best seller! It’s a stunning garter which is so unusual, being flat it allows brides with even the slinkiest of dresses to wear a garter.
.
.
Which celebrity would you like to see wearing a Vintage Styler piece, which piece and why?
.
In an ideal world, we would have loved to see Kate Moss in a Vintage Styler piece, particularly a forehead piece from Fabledreams we love her style, and her bridal style was such a beautiful mix of country garden/1920’s glamour.
.
.
.
.
Which Vintage Styler products would you recommend to a bride on a budget/ if money was no object?
.
For brides on a budget, our collection from Rocks for Frocks is really good value for money, some gorgeous vintage inspired pieces which are made to a really high standard but won’t break the bank.
.
For a bride wanting to splurge on accessories, our range from Jo Barnes vintage is perfect, Jo creates beautiful pieces which are amazing quality and so comfortable to wear which is essential on your wedding day! We love the Grace and Rita headbands.
.
.

.
For my own wedding, I went to London for a lot of things, purely because I couldn’t find enough info on local businesses and suppliers! I’d love to support Brides up North to give the northern readers as much help and inspiration for their weddings as possible!
