I don’t know about you, but all this talk of Winter bridal style plus lashing rain, longer nights and the need to dig my fluffy White Company booties out of the back of the wardrobe has made me feel all wintery this week.

.

I just adore the seasons, and after Autumn, Winter is my favourite.  Weird, I know, but hear me out.  Winter means snowscapes and candles, fur lined boots, waxing up your skis, kicking up leaves, bonfires and mittens, (late night) Christmas shopping, mulled wine, the office being closed, German markets, fairy lights on everything, lashings of gravy, long romantic walks till your nose turns pink, better telly, drawing the curtains and creating a cosy love nest, a new jacket, Quality Street and Christmas pud.

.

You love it too, you just don’t know it yet.  I even managed to sneak the word Christmas in twice and you barely flinched.  You’re coming round.

.

And you know those long romantic walks till your nose turns pink that I just mentioned? That’s what today’s gorgeous engagement shoot sent to the wedding blog by Lisa and Emma of Scarlett Weddings is all about.  It might not be snowing yet, but the seasons are definitely changing…

Over to the girls: We first met Lauren & Dave at Liverpool’s Hope St Hotel where they will holding their wedding reception when they get married next September. After nine years together, David proposed around Christmas last year when we had lots of heavy snow. They told us how they hadn’t been out much because of the weather and David suggested a trip to Freshfield’s Pinewoods in Formby to get out for a bit before surprising Lauren!

.

We can imagine how picturesque the woods would have been laden with snow as it’s so pretty there!

We had to agree with Lauren & Dave that it would be the perfect place for their engagement shoot.  We had a lovely time and it was quite apt that there were still Christmas trees on the beach from last year to save the sand dunes, adding to the wintery feel…

Keep reading… and Winter wedding fans – if you think this slight nod to Winter is getting into the spirit of the seasons, just wait till you see what I have coming up later on this week for you!
