Maybe it was seeing Michelle Williams’ star turn this weekend in My Week With Marilyn, but this wedding blogger is feeling the need for a slick of black liner and an iconic red lip, just in time for the Christmas season.

To get things off to a flying start, McAvoy Weddings and a small team of select wedding industry suppliers from the North West (some of whom were put in contact following the first ever Brides Up North Tweet Up Wedding Industry networking event, no less!) have revived this atmosphere in a Hollywood inspired photo shoot to launch their supremely decadent post-wedding service – Hollywood Vogue.

Jenny McAvoy says: When you think of the Golden Age of Hollywood you imagine glamour, elegance and iconic images. These images captured an era when actors and actresses were the epitome of beauty and style and embraced their mystery, sex appeal and power.
.
The actresses wore the most glamorous costumes that have ever hit celluloid. From long flowing gowns that floated across the screen, to tight sexy dresses that clung to every voluptuous curve. Their leading men, all suited and booted, oozed power, class and sophistication.

Veronica Lake – film noir’s mysterious leading lady – was Hollywood’s femme fatale. The look was an icy blonde trademark hairstyle, a cascade of golden tresses. There was something about those lips, the flirty peek-a-boo eye, and that sexy, sweeping hair that was seductive beyond words – Veronica Lake just had “it.”

Veronica’s curvaceous figure, ‘lake’ blue eyes, poise and indelible mystique made her the ultimate pin-up.
.
We imitated Veronica’s sultry beauty and iconic peek-a-boo look in Belle Epoque’s hallway. Aphrodite Bridalwear dressed model Alex Outhwaite in an exquisite Jenny Packham gown (Papillion) and she posed with leading man Jesse Bradbury in this love scene inspired by 30’s style films.
