Oh I do like to start a new week in a flurry of pretty! This vintage wedding inspiration shoot was researched and organised by stationer Vicky Trainor and Becky Mitchell Photography. Pens were put to paper last Summer as ideas were jotted, concepts sketched and venue and industry collaborations were formed. And then, they sent it to me!
.
If you are looking for a girly, vintage vibe for your wedding day, these ladies have it absolutely spot on.

Vicky says: The design of the shoot is loosely based on the idea of taking areas of an artist’s old Victorian drawing room. A styled area of natural objects, organised and displayed to create a still-life, that would look fitting in the corner of any artist’s/designer’s studio. Using beautiful filters of natural light through laced windows, collaged walls, blooms of botanical prints on fabrics, old vintage drawers filled with amaryllis and flowering jasmine, lace wrapped pebbles, buttons made from shell and pretty hand sewn ribbons.

Laced tablecloths, crochet edged stationery, bowls of lychees and blueberries lay alongside pretty home baked cakes decorated with frosted butter icing and blueberries and lace with an aroma of lemon and apple. The beautiful florals displayed in old stoneware were influenced by Victorian paintings that were playful and more natural in their arrangement, all in scented tones of white and antique creams with the occasional peacock feather.
.
We wanted to use a venue that would allow the freedom to be able to use an empty room like a blank canvas, to create sets and styled areas that were in keeping with the Victorian period. So what would be more fitting than using a beautiful old Victorian manor, Rigwood House in Saltburn-by-the-Sea. They kindly allowed us to work in the whole of their ground floor for two days, and what fun we had. This venue sits under the umbrella of the name ‘Be All You Can’ and it is a fabulous spacious venue if you require somewhere to hold a more creative and a more personally styled wedding.

We used vintage furniture from my own collection mixed with a selection from the company Peeling Paint. Helen Mawson of Bels Flowers arrived with her little van and wonderful bunches of sculptured amaryllis, roses, hyacinths, jasmine and potted pansies and the mix of their beautiful scent filled the room.
.
Designer Helen Stevens of Surfacephilia and I began styling the room while Helen of Bels Flowers creatively made arrangements to fit beautifully into spaces using a wonderful collection of vases and small vessels from Northern Lights Interiors.

A beautiful Japanese tea set was loaned to us by make up artist Jo Leversuch of Make Up By Jo and was filled with green tea and roses. The aroma of apple and lemon and cinnamon from the home baking was delicious and was produced by a new little home spun business called A Slice of Nostalgia. The 1970’s flocked nylon dress hanging on the collaged wall was donated by vintage specialist Margaret Garbut.
.
The crochet and lace decorated lavender stationery was from Vicky Trainor’s Cotton & Herb Collection and the embroidered and appliqué signs and decorated lace ribbons were from The Vintage Drawer.

Not only did Helen Stevens from Surfacephilia work on the styling of the photo shoot but she also agreed to be our ‘muse’ for the day, Helen wore a selection of dresses from Truly Beautiful, who are based in Guisborough as well as a pretty hand made organza decorated ribbon from DC Bouquets’ Mae Collection.
.
The wonderful tussle of bohemian curls were created by hair stylist Adrian Wray of Chocolate and the beautiful make up was applied by Jo Leversuch from Make-up By Jo.

This beautiful collection of imagery was produced by wedding photographer Becky Mitchell who also runs, with her husband Bob Mitchell, The Profile Gallery and Sitting Room Tea Shop in Saltburn-by-the-Sea. A big thank you to Bob who helped enormously over the two days. A selection of photography that focused on the detail from the ‘still-life’ table was taken by photographer Katie Byram, who supported and helped the team on the day of the shoot.
.
Wedding Photographer, Debbie Stogden, also produced a series of videos from the day focusing on ‘behind the scenes’ footage which we hope you enjoy!
