This gorgeous Spring time engagement shoot sent to me by Brides Up North reader Sue and Andrew Ward Photographer is just what the doctor ordered as I sit here at my desk in Brides Up North HQ with rain lashing against the window panes. Sue and Rob are just about the most gorgeous couple ever (wouldn’t you agree?), and it is with pleasure that I share their little love story today.

Andrew says: I met up with Sue and Rob at the fabulous Combermere Abbey for their engagement shoot.
It was a beautifully sunny day in March, as we wandered around the grounds and it gave us chance to have a chat about their plans for the big day. Their wedding at Combermere Abbey promises to be a fantastic day, even the chance of an outdoor ceremony, fingers crossed!

Sue says: We got engaged whilst on a Caribbean cruise on the Island of Tortola. We were looking out to sea saying how beautiful the clear waters were and then to my shock Rob placed a beautiful diamond ring in front of me and asked me to be his wife. A total surprise!

We are getting married in June 2012 at Combermere Abbey, Shropshire.

We first met about eight years ago through mutual friends but at the time we were just friends. We ended up going out together about two years ago and we both knew it was meant to be.

Our first date was at a Mexican restaurant called Panama Hatties followed by a night on the town. Even with his interesting dance moves, I knew that he was definitely the one for me! I had never laughed and smiled so much and felt so content. I just could not imagine my life without him in it. I love Rob’s youthfulness and care free spirit. He has always got a smile on his face and sees the positive side to everything.

Rob is possibly the untidiest person that I have ever met, but I can live with that!

My biggest wish for married life is that we continue to laugh together and support each other through good times and bad times and for complete honesty and disclosure.

We chose to have an engagement shoot to help us get a feel for being in front of the camera and hopefully feel more relaxed on the day. It also gave Andrew chance to see our venue and for us to get know Andrew better.
.
Our shoot took place at Combermere Abbey and we were both very excited to have the opportunity to have some pictures taken there in the spring sunshine. Andrew helped us to both feel very relaxed in front of the camera by making the shoot fun and informal although capturing some lovely images that we are both very pleased with.

I’m a Brides Up North reader and enjoy looking at the ‘real weddings’ and getting inspiration for my own special day. The wedding directory is also extremely useful! We are looking forward to sharing our own Real Wedding on the wedding blog.

Rob says: Sues most annoying little habit is that she has a short fuse however, I can quickly win her round! I love the way that Sue and I are able to have lots of fun together and talk about everything. She is my best friend.

Congratulations Sue and Rob
