I’ve had a fabulous weekend indulging in the Jubilee celebrations, attending the Derby (alongside her Majesty) this Saturday – with a blink and you’ll miss it appearance on BBC 1 in my pillar box red dress none the less – and watching the box for hours yesterday taking in all the pageantry and splendour.
.
There have also been a few Jubilee engagements over the weekend (so far!), and massive congratulations if you have a sparkly new addition on your ring finger. Welcome to the club… and the Northern Revolution!
.
Whatever you’ve been up to, I hope you have had a chance to kick back and relax and spend some quality time with your family and friends. Even better, you’ve got another two whole days to go! Monday has officially become the new Saturday! The celebrations keep coming here on the wedding blog too, as I have even more gorgeous Jubilee content to share with you over the next two days. It feels like a bit of a party on these swirly silver pages this extended weekend – unique hits to the site are higher than ever before this month (hurrah!) and more of you are actively participating in the Brides Up North community over on Facebook and Twitter too. If you haven’t already, come Like and Follow and join in the fun.
.
But enough from me. Let the festivities continue with this lovely little styled shoot sent to me by Victoria Edwards Photography and her team of Yorkshire wedding industry suppliers.

Victoria says: Jean from Elise Flowers and I wanted to put a shoot together using local suppliers in our local area. We love North Yorkshire and we wanted to show part of it off. We are so lucky to live surrounded by beautiful scenery. You really don’t have to travel far in any direction to find breath taking backdrops! For this shoot we decided on Richmond as our location. It seems to have so much unique character, and a castle, I like castles!

We started off in the Georgian Theatre Royal. It’s Britain’s oldest Georgian play house and as well as putting on regular performances they also hold civil ceremonies. The ceremonies are held on the stage with some of the oldest woodland sceneries as a back drop while guests look on from the stalls. It’s small and quirky and wedding there would truly be something different from the norm.

While some of the fantastic suppliers that both myself and Jean have worked with set up a Jubilee tea down by the river, myself and Hannah, our gorgeous model for the day set off capturing shots as we went. The weather was being temperamental so we shot outside while we had a window of good weather.

We knew the timing for the photo shoot would be perfect for the Jubilee, so we tried to keep the red blue and white tones throughout and of course a good hint of Yorkshire in there too (spot the Wensleydale?). Hannah’s hair colour was just pure coincidence but worked so well. Our area has so many opportunities our only problem is deciding where to do our next shoot!
