Is it that time of the week already? This one seems to be flying by in a blur of Real Wedding gorgeous over here at Brides Up North HQ. Keep ‘em coming – if you would like to submit a Real Wedding, all you have to do is get in touch.

All this busy leaves me dreaming of a hammock somewhere hot. It might still be raining cats and dogs where you are, but I’ll bet that your thoughts are already somewhere slightly balmier…like those of my fabulous guest blogger Katy of What Katy Did Next, who cooked up today’s Summer Holiday wedding inspiration board at my request!

Katy says: How about a lovely Summer Holiday inspired mood board this week? When Julia told me this week’s request I was unsure if the inspiration was to come from the fabulous Cliff Richard film (which would have been incredibly fun) but I’m sure you’ll agree I have created something sunny, modern and trendy, with Mediterranean shades with gorgeous pops of turquoise and fancy decor.
.
Coral and turquoise are both very popular shades at the moment, so I put the two together and warmed the colour palette with burnt orange and pale gold hues. The beautiful dress is perfect for a destination wedding on the beach – no sandy train! – and rather than teaming with a veil or headpiece (shocking i know!) I have paired it with unique accessories including the beautiful ombre coral necklace. If bold necklaces aren’t your style why not commission a beautiful bespoke cuff to match your wedding shades?
.
Spread your colour palette by decorating the aisle with a mix of floral arrangements and beautiful jewel coloured tea light holders or lanterns. You could order a set of personalised parasols and have your bridesmaids carry those down the aisle – or for a fun night in with your girls order plain parasols and have a go at painting them with messages yourself. If the striped bridesmaid attire isn’t up your street, a trend that is spreading like wildfire is rainbow bridesmaids (see Julia’s Sing a Rainbow board.)
.
Fingers crossed I haven’t got Cliff Richard’s Summer Holiday stuck in everyone’s heads and that you are dreaming of summer sun and sandy beaches!

Remember: the plan is to share a new inspiration board in this time slot every week, either compiled by myself, regular guest blogger Katy or YOU: get in touch with your own ideas and inspiration boards! We’ll be discussing our inspirations behind the images too so it’s simply going to be a whole load of lovely.
.
If you are a little less arty but in need of inspiration and still want to play along, we will also be taking requests for colour schemes and themes and making bespoke boards for my readers. Please contact me to suggest a theme or colour scheme.
