Before we get on to the pretty – now that I have your attention – a little technical message if I may. For those of you that already have, it has come to my attention (thanks for letting me know!) that the Brides Up North updates might not be showing up in your Facebook feeds. Apparently Facebook has made a few changes. Lucky for us, one of my very favourite non wedding blogs (go visit them here if you like feathering your nest as much as I do), dealt with this this very morning, and I have borrowed their step by step guide to help us out. - Hover over the button that says “Liked” (or LIKE it if you haven’t already!)

- Make sure the box next to “show in news feed” is checked. If it isn’t, just check it.

Ashley Tyrrell Make Up Artist says: This Bridal make up is soft, pretty and feminine.

We started off with a natural look to work with the hair – down, curly, soft but with volume. The bride’s skin was already flawless so I used a light (in texture) foundation and a touch of concealer as and when required.

Peachy hues were used on the eyes along with golds and natural browns. A darker brown was applied to the upper lash line with an angled brush, with a touch of colour through the brows helping to frame the eyes with lashings of mascara top and bottom.

I used a bronzer to define the cheeks slightly and a ‘barely there’ lip colour to complete the romantic and feminine look.

Ashley says: Similarly to the bride; I used soft tones in gold, bronze and brown on her eyes and blended the brown out to keep a soft romantic look without harsh lines. Lots of mascara was applied to the lashes to ‘open up’ the eyes. Brows are so important to me; they frame the eyes, so I filled in between the natural hairs when a deep brown/almost black powder with an angled brush.

A touch of pink on the apples of the cheeks made for a fresh and natural blush and complimented this with a pinky-nude tone on her lips.
