This stunning wedding inspiration board speaks for itself and needs no introduction from me, so it’s straight over to regular guest blogger Katy of What Katy Did Next to talk you through her thought process.
.
Katy says: After my last colourful mood board I toned down the colours and used a super stylish palette of muted beige, pale gold and flashes of rust and aqua influenced by the beautiful Navajo illustration from the Surface Philia Interiors and homewares range. A Bohemian theme runs through the board with the use of feathers in just about everything. For the DIY bride, why not try your hand at making the beautiful paper cut feather bunting to decorate your venue? You could personalise the bunting by cutting them from you & your groom’s favourite old books, maps of your favourite destinations or where you first met and use loose feathers as place cards for your guests.
.
If your groom isn’t big on flowers how about a stylish pocket of feathers – simple and chic – if the brown is to plain you could pretty it up with spotted Guinea fowl feathers or sprigs of dried flowers keeping with the colour scheme. The wedding gown by Tadashi Shoji is clean and elegant with beautiful draping and detailed embellishment which needs little or no accessories but the small and perfectly formed feather hair grip with a flash of colour will tie the rest of your ensemble in with the rest of the theme.
.
The clean white of the bridal outfit leaves plenty of colour and expression for the bridesmaids and i have chosen a gorgeous natural gold dress from Matthew Williamson – which does cost almost six times as much as the bridal gown but try taking the image to a local dress maker who will gladly help talk through possible designs for a less pricey alternative. I am in love with the stark white of the wedding cake with the intricate feather detail, a blank canvas to spread your colour scheme even further.
.
I’m a huge fan of the natural subtle shades in this board, but don’t be shy and let us know if you have colour schemes you want us to have a go at. Perhaps something to convince the sun to shine again?

Remember: the plan is to share a new inspiration board in this time slot every week, either compiled by myself, regular guest blogger Katy or YOU: get in touch with your own ideas and inspiration boards! We’ll be discussing our inspirations behind the images too so it’s simply going to be a whole load of lovely.
.
If you are a little less arty but in need of inspiration and still want to play along, we will also be taking requests for colour schemes and themes and making bespoke boards for my readers. Please contact me to suggest a theme or colour scheme.
