I felt like treating you this afternoon, so it’s a double whammy of wedding blog content this Sunday with this beautiful spring Real Wedding sent to me by Pixies In The Cellar and real bride Kristen.

Kristen and Carl’s fresh and colourful classic wedding is a breath of fresh air. Enjoy (and watch out for a stunning Real Wedding instalment coming up bright and early tomorrow too!).

Kirsten says: Carl asked me to marry him at home on 26th March 2011 and we were married on 24th March 2012 at The Villa Country House Hotel, Wrea Green.

We chose The Villa as it was a very relaxed and accommodating venue where we could have a get together with close friends and family the night before and everyone could stay over.

We didn’t really have a theme, but ‘Springtime’ very much featured in the flowers, stationery and cake we chose. Colour wise, we opted for a background of navy blue with lots of different spring colours in our flowers.

My wedding dress was ‘Ali’ by Augusta Jones, quite a vintage style with lots of lace and a diamante belt, from a boutique shop in Shropshire. I accessorised with a bunch of colourful spring flowers from Rolands in Rawtenstall.

The bridesmaids chose long navy blue flowing dresses from Debenhams which we customised with brooch detail where the dress gathered at the front.

My absolute favourite part of the day was walking down the aisle to meet Carl.

We added special touches to the day by making a candy stand with personalised paper bags and Pixies In The Cellar set up a photo studio for portrait shots in the evening which was fantastic.

For our cake, we chose a cupcake tower with a spring theme by Emily’s Cupcakes and we were entertained by a duo of singers/guitar players called ‘Just’. All our stationery was by Lovegreen Invitations.

After the wedding we enjoyed a romantic stay-cation in a cottage on the coast of Scotland.

My top tip for other Brides Up North would be to relax, smile and enjoy it!
